I'm a skilled sight reader and can read chord charts and lead sheets proficiently. Additionally, I am also an adept improviser and can learn and memorize large volumes of music in a short time. I am well-versed in wedding band repertoire as well as jazz standards, and I aim to help create an engaging and memorable event for audiences. I pride myself on being professional, flexible and easy to work with.

Biography

Warren Louie is an NYC-based electric and upright bassist. A graduate of NYU's Class of '23, he has had the privilege of studying with esteemed musicians such as Drew Gress, Martin Wind, Dezron Douglas, Chris Potter, Billy Drewes, and Lenny White. Warren has also performed and recorded with notable artists including Chris Potter, Ari Hoenig, Manuel Valera, Dave Pietro, and Alex Sipiagin. Currently, he teaches bass, guitar, and piano at Larchmont Music Academy, where his students have consistently achieved top marks at NYSMA. Online Bass Lessons (80$/Hr, 60$/30m)

Private bass lessons taught over Zoom or Facetime. I focus on giving students the tools to eventually become autonomous in their musical journey, focusing on technique and music theory so they are able to learn the music they want without me there. Previous students of mine have gone on to receive high marks in state music festivals such as NYSMA as well as get accepted into prestigious colleges with their music supplements.

Hi! I am a Professional upright and electric bassist out of NYC with over 10 years of experience looking to help elevate your track and realize its full potential. I believe that every recording I make—whether it's for my music or someone else's—serves as my resume as a musician. As such, I will approach your song with the same level of care and attention to detail that I dedicate to my own projects.

I have extensive experience in various musical styles, with my primary genres including Jazz, Pop, R&B, Neo Soul, Fusion, Rock, and Funk. I'm also very comfortable with reading lead sheets, chord charts, and traditional music notation, and I can quickly learn parts by ear as well. I am also adept at improvising and soloing if that is something you want.

For this service, I will provide 3 high fidelity takes using different styles of playing that are tailored your needs as well as 2 revisions free of charge. The stems are recorded DI through my Aguilar Tone Hammer 500, so you have an incredibly versatile, high-quality bass sound ready to be run into the effects and amp sim of your choice. For upright I record using a Sony C-100 and a David Gage realist lifeline pickup. If you are looking for a more specific sound reach out to me and I will let you know if I have the capability to do what you are looking for. I have the following basses available for use:

- Custom built P bass with Bartolini Pickups and the Graphtech acoustaphonic piezo system (5 string)
- Fender American standard jazz bass (4 string)
- German upright bass built c.1890

Please note that for every minute over 5 minutes the recording will be an additional 15$.

I can also write the part out, formatted, in tab or music notation for an additional 15$ as well.
