BIOGRAPHY
Abba A rival an explosive show packed with all your favourite Abba Hits, sensational singing and authentic costumes. One of the most glamorous young Abba Tributes out there, they bring back Abba as they were in their heyday - gorgeously leggy hot pant wearing 70s icons! ( and that was just Benny & Bjorn ;-))
This dynamic Scottish Tribute to Abba have toured all over the world including Russia, Israel, Canada and Europe. With a team of West End standard singers and musicians including founder member Leona Marie who has had 3 top 40 hits, supported and sang with many famous names a ... nd been in the BGT semi finals and recently Come Dine With Me to mention but a few of her achievements - see Biogs for more info on the team.
Their ABBA TRIBUTE BAND show features sequins galore, hot pants, platform thigh high high boots and all your favourite Abba hits - all the best gold record selling hits from the super group - see Songs for full repertoire listing.
This Scottish Abba Tribute Band features choreographed dance routines and comes self contained with a high quality state of the art Bose sound system and dazzling stage lighting. The band can also play music before / in between and after the show to save you hiring a separate DJ.
Line ups available are - 4 piece Abba Tribute Band with 2 girl singers, keyboards and guitar but also available as a 5 /6 piece with drummer and base player or if you are squeezed on space / budget an Abba tribute Duo ( 2 girls with backing tracks)
THE BAND ALSO HAVE THE FULL DRUMS AND BASS MUSIC NOTATION FOR THEIR SHOW TO USE ON BOARD CRUISE SHIPS so they can arrive as a 4piece and perform as a full 6 piece band.

Leona - Agnetha ( Abba A Rival Producer/Manager)
Musical Theatre trained Leona was described as 'singer to the stars' in Hello Magazine 2010. Her pop credits include 3 Top 40 Hits with pop band Lemonescent. She has mastered the character of Agnetha to perfection in Abba Mania (Londons West End Theatre) and Bjorn Again. As an International top vocalist she has supported Lulu, Brian May, Blue, Peter Andre and Attomic Kitten.
Andrene - Frida
Andrene trained at the Valda Hunter School of Dance and with Gillian Archibald of Motherwell College. She has a wealth of experience in session singing, cabaret shows and singing on Scotland's gig circuit. She has also enjoyed being a lead singer in VOWS Award Winning Wedding Band T-Junction. She had played the lead role of Carmen Diaz in Fame at the King's Theatre in Glasgow and has toured Scotland's Theatre's with Abba Mania. She is thrilled to be playing Frida in the Sweegies.
Laurence - Bjorn
Laurence Murray made the step up from a classical acoustic guitar to trombone and then onto electric. Graduated Napier University where I graduated with a 2:1 Honours degree. He runs his own Blues and Soul band 'Laurence Murray Project'. He has written and produced a solo 12 track album and toured Africa with contemporary Ceilidh band 'Callanish' He loves being branded the ‘Bjorn -Rock Goddess of Love’ in The Sweegies.
Gavin - Benny ( & band leader )
Gavin McCloy is multi-Instrumentalist and technology wizard. Keyboardist / Synth Player, as well as skilled on other instruments such as Guitar, Bass & Drums. Enjoys producing music and is a bit of a technology whiz when it comes to Web design, photography, Sound. He is an absolute asset to the Abba team with his enthusiasm and appreciation of the intricate Abba Musicality.
