Biography

VWGC have performed throughout the country and abroad. Recent performances include their sell-out shows “Legends” & “Gospel Rocks”, on tour with Take That, Reef, The Heavy, Susan Boyle and Kerry Ellis, live session work on BBC1 & ITV, performances for the Rugby World Cup 2015, opening Womad with the Blind Boys of Alabama, support act for Jocelyn Brown, Courtney Pine and Jamie Cullum, and pre-match entertainment for Bath Rugby.
They have recorded with artists including Peter Gabriel and Brian May and released six albums – including 'Choired Up' and ‘A Soulful Christmas’.

I’ve never seen so many people sing with such permanently happy enthusiasm. Apart from being exceptionally joyful, there seemed to be no end to the number of soloists who stepped into the limelight throughout the evening. Little wonder they produced such great music with that much talent to rely on. Cheered back for two encores, which the equally enthusiastic audience would have preferred to be even more, the VWGC closed with the old Jimmy Cliff song, Higher and Higher. Very appropriate, as this choir are certainly up there in popularity and ability.

VWGC sang at my wedding and were a dream come true. Having a gospel choir to add to the service was the only thing we knew we wanted from the very beginning of planning. We instantly felt confident they could realise our dream. To us the service was the most important part of the day and they provided the magic that made the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. I’d been listening to Ave Maria in the car in the run up to the big day so that I could get used to hearing it without bursting into tears! When they sang Higher and Higher for our recessional, everyone stood up and started clapping along. It was a very happy and lovely day thanks to Vocal Works Gospel Choir.
