Formed around 2013 out of necessity for a tribute band to Van Halen that would not only bring the music, but also the show, VHT has strived to bring the best in performance and showmanship that would cater to everyone's tastes. From festivals with 4-8,000 people of all ages to adult New Year's Eve parties, we cater our show to YOUR audience and YOUR expectations. We keep our stage set scalable to accommodate most any size stage. The entire band brings to life the Van Halen shows of the 70's and 80's with scorching guitar and drum solos, lot's of talking from the singer and amazing backing v ... ocals from our bassist. "Eddie Van Halen" - George Mangos
In addition to managing VHT and playing lead guitar for since Betamax was "a thing", George manages a Project Management IT/Business consulting firm that works with companies such as BP, Chevron and ATT. He attended Harvard Executive Business School and has a BA in Liberal Arts and MBA in International Business. He has three kids and a wife who is a Scientist. George's musical endeavors span over 3 decades and has played guitar in numerous bands in Houston and Dallas over that time. He also volunteers as business mentor in the Houston music scene. "David Lee Roth" - Anthony Edge
The host with the most, Mr. Anthony "Blackie" Edge has been a staple in the Houston, TX music scene for the past 3 decades. Known for his fiery stage persona and ability to seamlessly channel the "Lion Maned Blonde One", Blackie is also known as one of the most down to earth entertainers while off stage. Never too busy for photos with fans, never too busy to lend an ear and listen. Blackie also spends his free time running sound systems for other bands and managing stage productions across Texas.
"Alex Van Halen" - Rick Gonzalez
VHT's drummer Rick Gonzalez has been computer programmer for over 20 years. He's also been married 21 years and has 2 children. Musically, he's been playing since the age of 10. Rick has played in many bands throughout his life from original projects when he was younger to cover bands and tributes later in life. As well as being VHT's "Alex Van Halen", he also plays drums and manages a local Soundgarden tribute.
"Michael Anthony" - Jason Ward
VHT bassist Jason Ward (he prefers “Thunder God”) has been all over the Houston music scene for roughly two decades, playing in various cover bands of all shapes and styles, as well has recording his own material. Jason brings the bass chops AND the vocal chops for delivering those VH harmonies. When not handling bass duties, Jason has spent his time working in IT, taking care of audio needs for a pro wrestling company, achieving a culinary degree, and working with children.
