Description
I am a skilled drummer with extensive experience in many genres. I can follow full charts, lead sheets, or play completely by ear. I also have basic proficiency in piano.
Biography
I have attended non-degree programs at the Brubeck Institute in Stockton, where I studied under many esteemed musicians such as Brian Kendrick and Jonathan Latta. I have also studied both drums and piano at the California Jazz Conservatory in Berkeley. This spring I graduated from St John’s College in Annapolis, Maryland where I was a part of the duo Spoken Taboo, which won my school's top prize for artistic achievement. I am currently a member of the Candy Horns, resident band for Valleyfair Amusement Park.
Experience
I am the main drummer for the Alameda Jazz Collective, which is fronted by former Funk Brothers guitarist Thom Douvan. I have also played with many other artists in the San Francisco bay area, including esteemed jazz singer Lavay Smith, and my drumming has been featured on local radio station KALX. I am also the upcoming drummer for The Candy Horns, the resident band for Valleyfair Amusement Park:
