Description

Our main show is a Tribute to the Golden Era of Pop ( 50's ,60's 70's and 80's) playing classic tracks that every age group seems to know!.... but we can also perform songs from more recent decades (eg Ed Sheeran Coldplay Stereophonics and The Killers). We are also happy to learn any particular song for the occasion, if it isn't already in our repertoire. We have released 3 albums and 5 singles ( available on itunes through Cherry Red Records) The band has 4 lead vocalists. During the breaks we use an mp3 with varied play lists to suit any occacsion. We carry an excellent PA and Lighting ri ... g. If you'd like to get in touch I would be happy to discuss tailoring our performance to your requirements. We also do gigs as a solo / duo / trio .

Biography

The band's passion and obvious joy in the music is clear in their live act and their recordings. In addition, all of the band members are lead vocalists, enabling them to offer a range and depth of material that few other bands possess. In recent years, Go Go dancers have joined the band on stage, giving an exciting reminder of why the music of the 50’s , 60s , and 70s provided so many people with so much pleasure!
The current line up is: Paul Aitken (drums and vocals) Ben Grove (rhythm guitar and vocals) Steve Morley (bass guitar and vocals) Gordon Sellar (lead guitar and vocals . We car ... ry a high quality PA and Lighting system as standard.
The band has played Festivals , Corporate Functions , Clubs , Weddings , Birthday Parties , Universities and Colleges in venues large and small. We have played in Europe and as far afield as Hong Kong . We played to 4500 in The Liverpool Arena, 9000 at The Speech House and 15000 on Regent Street in London
The Retros started officially in 1985 but have roots going back to Precious Little in 1975 and The Banned in 1977 ( Top of The Pops reaching No 26 in the Charts).

The event was my Masonic Lodge Ladies evening, and I wanted the evening to be the best possible, I was not disappointed. Paul and the band arrived mid-afternoon for the event, even though they were not due on stage until 9pm. Communication between us prior to the event was excellent, very professional and informative, then we get to the evening itself. WOW!!! What a night, over the years I have booked acts for many organisations and I have got to say The Retros stand out as the best by a country mile. Every single person had a fabulous evening, and that was down to The Retros. During our pre event discussion, Paul asked for details of the event, what kind of audience it would be and what kind of music I would like them to perform. As a result, the band put together a playlist that was absolutely perfect. If anyone is looking for a band that are musically excellent, reliable and know just how to entertain an audience. Have got to be their number 1 option, I cannot praise them enough!

Hi Paul. What a truly amazing night Maz and I had at our wedding at Delbury Hall Shropshire thanks to you guys (THE RETROS) you were fantastic took me back to the 60’s70’s etc incredible music and great singing from you all ,if I had closed my eyes I could have been back in the Cavern Club, your music range is great you sing everything pop ,modern ,the lot, I’ve seen a few bands in my time but you guys are right up there if anyone is looking for a band for a function etc look no further, as in the words of my favourite song by the SEARCHERS (when you walk in the room) you guys just nailed it.
