Biography

TC.KYLIE x The Hourglass presents a vibrant fusion of jazz from her debut album, drawing on cultural influences from Hong Kong, Japan, and the UK. Kylie leads her band with dynamic performances, showcasing her mastery of the keyboard and synth keytar—iconic in Japanese jazz rock. Inspired by Shaun Martin and Robert Glasper, she continues exploring Japanese acid jazz, influenced by Fox Capture Plan, Jabberloop, Toconoma, Jizue, and Bohemianvoodoo.
Previously a news documentary journalist in Hong Kong, Kylie connected human stories within complex political landscapes. Her song “The Last G ... rief” was an official selection at the 2023 International Toronto Music Video Festival. Leading her band IX (初久), with over 100,000 Spotify streams, they earned consecutive Tone Music Award nominations, placing in the Top 10 for Annual Music Video Awards and Top 10 Hits.
In 2024, Kylie headlined the EFG London Jazz Festival, performing in two additional shows, and supported Butcher Brown at a sold-out show in The Jazz Cafe during their EU Tour.
