As a retired music teacher and professional drummer for 35 years, I add a wealth of experience and am capable to perform in any musical setting. I am known as a versatile drummer who can play in any style or genre. Having played on cruise ships in the past, I also know the logistics and what is expected. My reputation as an excellent reader also bodes well in any gig situation.
Biography
Steve James has been a drummer/percussionist for over 40 years. Steve has enjoyed playing many styles of music including jazz, R+B , Rock and funk. He currently plays in a 90’s alternative band as well as the Mary-Catherine Pazzano jazz quartet which includes Canadian jazz icons Pat Collins and Mark Eisenman. Having taught instrumental music for 31 years, he is enjoying retirement but remains busy as a freelance drummer.
Experience
Steve James has performed on cruise ships in the past including Carnival. Steve has been a session drummer for 30 years with jazz singers and other styles/genres of music. He has played in every kind of setting including private corporate functions, weddings, clubs and recording studios.
