Whilst Martin Toal's shows are classical in style, they are above all about entertainment and fun performing songs and music that the client knows. For example, at corporate events, Martin usually sings a "wow factor" starter song ( eg World in Union, Nessun Dorma, OR Jerusalem ), followed by a FUN set around dessert / coffee time of between 20 and 45 minutes (depending on what the client wants) where he would perform ( whilst encouraging the audience to sing, clap along, wave napkins in the air etc ) songs like the Mario Lanza Drinking Song, Volare, Sweet Chariot, Funiculi Funicula, Molly M ... alone, O Sole Mio, Bread of Heaven, Sweet Caroline, We are the Champions, Land of Hope & Glory etc. If accompanied by a female violinist or male Irish fiddle player, Lord of the Dance or The Sailor's Hornpipe played on the violin would also be included in the act. Set-List

For the cruise and corporate market, Martin has both the backing tracks and the written music for up to an 8-piece band ( ie piano, bass, drums, guitar, trumpet, trombone, tenor sax and also sax ) for TWO very unique and different 45-minute shows, plus a THIRD 45-minute show of popular operatic and musical theatre songs.
1) His first show GREATEST SPORTING ANTHEMS reflects his career as “sport’s winning tenor” as he invites the audience to become the backing choir OR 'stadium crowd' and join him in singing favourite traditional sporting anthems. These include rugby anthems such as W ... orld in Union, Jerusalem, Ireland’s Call, Bread of Heaven, and Sweet Chariot, as well as pop classics often associated with sport such as Que Sera Sera, Sweet Caroline and We are the Champions.
2) In his second show CLASSICA CELTICA, Martin draws on his classical training and Irish heritage as he performs mainly popular Italian and Irish songs from his CDs ARIA CELTICA and COCKLES MUSSELS & ARIAS. His show can include such Irish classics as Danny Boy, Fields of Athenry, Molly Malone and Wild Rover, plus favourite operatic songs and arias such as Nessun Dorma, O Sole Mio, La Donna E Mobile, and Andrea Bocelli’s Time to Say Goodbye.
3) In his third show, Martin performs other favourite songs from the world of popular opera and musicals. These include Mario Lanza's Drinking Song from the Student Prince, the Spanish classic Granada, Dean Martin’s Volare, and West End hits such as Bring Him Home, Love Changes Everything and Music of the Night.

Manchester Irish tenor Martin Toal is a top class vocalist and entertainer very much in demand for major sporting, corporate, concert and charity events. He has performed with some of Europe’s top artists including sopranos Lesley Garrett and Laura Wright, fellow tenor Alfie Boe, and Ireland’s Chris de Burgh who described Martin’s voice as “phenomenal”.
His corporate clients have included the FA, the LMA, Coutts Bank and Dragons Den’s Theo Paphitis, and his charity work has included performing for The Prince’s Trust, Wooden Spoon and the Lord’s & Lady Taverners. His TV & ra ... dio credits include BBC1’s Inside Out, BBC2’s A Band for Britain with actor & presenter Sue Perkins, SKY News, SKY Sports news, BBC’s radio 2 and 5 live, and ITV's The Real Housewives of Cheshire where Martin famously ( or infamously! ) sang "Happy Birthday" to Sweetie the rabbit!
Many know Martin as “Sport’s Winning Tenor” as he has performed national, operatic and sporting anthems on the pitch of all the major UK sporting arenas, many of which were broadcast LIVE on TV. These include Wembley and Twickenham in London, the homes of the England football and rugby teams respectively, Croke Park in Ireland, Celtic Park in Scotland, the Principality Stadium in Wales, and Old Trafford and the Etihad stadium, the homes of Manchester United and Manchester City respectively. Interestingly, on the six occasions that Martin sang the national anthems at an England football international, England won all six games without conceding a single goal! And in 2009, Martin had the honour of singing for and subsequently meeting the Queen and Prince Phillip at a special Royal event in Lancashire.
