Biography

Simthandile holds an impressive 18 year track record as an active creative practitioner based in Durban South Africa. She is a both a visual and performing artist, and began her performance career by landing roles and participating in theatre musicals, in the corporate entertainment scenes as well as through providing entertainment in private events and her own productions.
Simtha has worked as a television presenter for SABC 2's Hosanna, done some commercials for Stylin' Dredz and Romans Pizza through her former agent Moonyeen Lee and Associates, and has worked as a radio presenter for a l ... ocal radio station called Durban Youth Radio.
She runs conceptualized productions through her arts business, Ebonygypsy Arts and has produced credible events such as "A Woman, A Hat, A Bag, and Her Belly", "The Township Jazz Society", and "The Buskers Collective". Each production is designed to aid in the development of the local creative industries through collaboration, audience development and original show cases.
Simthandile recently held her first solo exhibition show casing a mixed media series inspired by African hair, textures and bold facial features linked to her one woman musical revue titled "It Grows".
Aside from the arts, Simtha is an extraordinary person with good entrepreneurial skill and runs an earring and accessory line off of Instagram. She also makes and sells commissioned art and has a pop up shisanyama business. Read More
