My name is Shey Kahni and I am a singer. guitarist. pianist. flutist. percussionist and drummer.
I specialize in a unique sound that blends Afro- Latin jazz, Reggae, Disco, Funk and Rock, honing my craft by playing with artists across the continent.

My music appeals to people from all walks of life, and is an uplifting blend of continental, as well as commercial, music from various genres.
My style is well known throughout the industry, and I have been featured in radio stations from the busiest of city hubs, to quiet intimate venues across Southern Africa.

My repertoire is diverse, at over 250 covers, which I am able to adapt to any style to suit any occasion.
I play at least 5 to 6 sets of an hour per set, from Latin to Rock, Blues,Reggae, Disco, Funk and Jazz.
Biography
Shey Kahni singer/ song writer/pianist/percussionist/flutist/drummer/ and guitarist, born in Angola in 1975. A the tender age of 5, as a child of musical parents, he became interested in music, as any enlightened kid he got bored with the traditional music of his country and started imitating his idols ( Pat Metheny, Herbie Hancock, Gypsy Kings. Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Sting, and Bob Marley) In primary school, I delighted my peers during intervals, and this soon came to the attention of my principal and teachers. At the age of 10, I left Angola for Namibia to seek fame and fortune. After f ... ew months of struggling , a friend suggested that I could study music, as this was for free in South Africa, and I promptly left Namibia . By now I had developed a unique style and voice that is truly international. I have been living and performing in South Africa ever since and have never looked back. I've had the privilege of recording my own music, which has been featured in SABC 1, and garnered me an interview on Africa magic (DSTV program), a satellite channel broadcast across Africa.
