Biography

Unlike his contemporaries, who’ve tossed aside icons and values of the past, singer Ryan Christopher celebrates them! Introduced by his parents and grandparents to beloved crooners like Chet Baker, Tony Bennett, Bobby Darin, Frank Sinatra, and Nat King Cole, Ryan learned to both appreciate and emulate their smooth sound. Now, he’s melting hearts by performing the standards himself at Baci Italian Restaurant and Timeless Treasures Boutiques in Huntington Beach, Somerset Winery in Temecula, and at corporate and private events throughout Southern California.
“I love the complexity of th ... e music and have a unique ability to sing and perform this genre,” he explains. However, Ryan’s voice also lends itself well to the beloved of Andrea Bocelli and Josh Groban. Given the opportunity, he’d like “perform with a live band at venues across the county… Vegas, New York, Chicago, Palm Springs and of course, all over California.”
Discovered In Surf City
How did a young guy develop such a classic sound? He started early! Ryan’s voice was first discovered at the age of 5 by his piano teacher, Maristella Murgo, at Carden Conservatory in Huntington Beach. His talent was then developed via private lessons with vocal coaches in multiple genres. At the age of 7, he caught the entertainment bug for good after performing with singer/songwriter/composer John Jacobsen in front of over 5,000 people at the American Sings! national music festival.
Ryan’s talents were furthered while attending the Crystal Cathedral Academy for elementary school. He performed in the HOUR OF POWER broadcast, in The Glory of Christmas productions, in Robert Schuller’s live Christmas broadcast in 2005, as well as in lead roles in many of his school’s musicals.
He Belongs On Stage
Numerous movie and primetime series appearances followed, and a young Ryan even lent his vocals to Neil Young’s 2011 Americana album, however, the stage beckoned. Answering the call, he enjoyed lead roles in Peter Pan, Oklahoma, Into the Woods, Les Miserables, Oliver, Fiddler on the Roof, Dorothy Meets Alice, Pinocchio and more, resulting in received numerous awards and scholarships for his vocal talents.
After high school, the ambitious performer began studying and learning the jazz standards — he gravitates towards those of the 30s, 40s and 50s — and the genre has since become his passion. Singing soloist from age 5, appearing on the Hour of Power, Glory of Christmas productions. Soloist in musical theatre productions of Peter Pan, Oliver, Into the Woods and more. Sang with Roger Williams and recorded background vocals with Neil Young.
