Russell Fox "Magician Insane" is Africa’s most inspirational, influential and insane Mentalist, Perceptionist and Illusionist. As a child, Russell was born with an array of life challenges including Epilepsy, Asthma, Dyslexia, ADHD and a mild form of Tourette's.
But with the hard knocks of life came a stubborn will and desire to overcome all that fought to stop him and he did. He has found ways to overcome or work around these challenges that would otherwise have stopped him from achieving amazing success. Today, Russell Fox is a thriving businessman and an Internationally Acclaimed Maste ... r in the art of Magic, Illusion, Perceptionism and Mentalism who has been performing throughout South Africa and across the continents since 1999.

Experience

My spirit lives to perform.
For many years, I’ve played the piano, guitar and numerous other musical instruments – whether simply
playing for friends and families at social gatherings or for those moments of self-reflection.
But my performing spirit only truly came to life when I discovered the Art of Magic.
Magic is about creating moments of wonder and reigniting the imagination of your audience.
Their responses serve as a positive and uplifting driving force for me. It wasn’t long before I decided to
commit the rest of my life to pursue this path, the life of the performer - ... a life less ordinary and lived
in the moment.
I immediately resigned from my job, a job that I hated to follow a career doing
something that I loved with so much passion. I contacted my mentor Jacques and told him about my
new viewpoint for my life.
He told me to join him at the V&A Waterfront and thus I began my first foray
into the world of busking. First in restaurants roaming the tables and performing for tips and then later
onto the street stages of the Waterfront for theatre on the outside. Street magic and busking taught me
how to become more than just a performer – it taught me how to master my craft.
How? Well, when you’re busking, you’re relying on people to tip you and if your show isn’t up to
standard or just rubbish, then the crowd will let you know with their inaction and vocalisation. It forces
you to become more self-aware, to constantly improve your performance, psychology, approach and to
call for tips. I did this for 15 years and it took me around the world on the most incredible adventures
to the most beautiful and scary places as I entertained and performed for people of all kinds.
My desire to perform on stage grew exponentially and I hit comedy clubs and mixed magic with comedy,
ultimately culminating in me running my own show... “Russell Fox – Live and Twisted.”
I began sharing the stage with two amazing comedians, Brent Niemand and Wayne McKay and we
toured with a show called “The Mayhem Tour” and it hasn’t stopped there. Later, I would join forces
with a well-known television personality, actor, dancer and producer Carlo McFarlane to produce a show
called “Drift” and tour with this amazing Cabaret production.
The ability to perform is a beautiful gift that increases in value with each moment shared. It’s a way to
envelop your life in a world of your own, a way to relate and communicate emotions and experiences
with a vast array of people and ultimately a world best spent sharing with others. Each show holds a
special place in my heart as I expand my craft and experience with every performance.
As an artist, I am fortunate to be able to create unforgettable moments and experiences for Corporate
Events, Weddings, Conferences, Birthdays or even Private Functions – virtually any kind of event that
