Biography

Created April 8, 2021, Rose Quartz (they/them) was born at the height of the pandemic and has grown from doing Canadian virtual drag shows in their friend’s lounge to performing on stages across NYC and the UK.
Having no choice but to start their drag journey on Instagram during lockdown, Rose Quartz was incredibly lucky to be taken in by several members of the NYC drag scene within a week of starting drag. This led to Rose feeling a sense of home and community across the pond which has carried through over the years; Rose’s end goal is to be performing in drag full time in NYC.
As ... a trans guy, navigating the drag scene in general is not easy. Femme drag has been so commercialised that there is a pressure to fit the drag stereotype in order to stay booked. Whilst Rose Quartz predominately does femme drag to suit the bars, they love gender ambiguous drag and fashion and embracing their alternative side.

When I saw Rose Quartz perform in drag, they did a horror mix originally created by Andrew Barret Cox, and the way they wholeheartedly captured the creepy essence of the mix itself was truly incredible. The audience was GAGGED at what was happening before them, me included!!! I was sat there jaw dropped the entire mix!! The binary breaking look paired with the jarring spooky mix made for an insane performance. If you haven't seen this absolute star shining on stage yet, you're missing out!!

Who doesn't love a bit of camp?! They're a talented performer and a lovely person and very supportive as well. They can make you laugh, cry, and beguiled by how fabulous they perform. They are beauty, they are grace and both uk and united states! I hope to see them live again soon!

Rose Quartz was absolutely incredible. They put on a killer show and was an absolute stand out. I came back every Monday just to watch them slay the stage. Creativity in choreography, outfits & just overall attention to detail— show fucking stopper!!!
