What makes Steve’s dexterity so enchanting and spellbinding is the incredible speed at which he works to fashion such palm-sized works of art. Entertaining quests at any occasion is an absolute art form, one that Steve has perfected, combining superb folding and cutting skills with his warm and approachable personality. In addition, the choices of material he selects specially with any given design in mind elevates each piece to something of a unique and treasured keepsake, a souvenir of the event, often folded in appropriate colours, or in relation to the style or theme of the occasion. Steve’s versatile and innovative close-up origami works in any social situation and always leaves a memorable impression on guests for a long time after the performance is over. It’s the perfect icebreaker, encouraging the guests to engage, relax and interact with each another.
Craft Class at Sea

Steve will lead craft sessions on board – all based on the cruise itinerary with relevant native craft features! He will draw on his extensive understanding and knowledge of paper crafting, demonstrating to the full paper’s extraordinary versatility as a creative medium. Steve’s demonstrations include: Card Making (pop-ups, tea bag and iris folds), Napkin Folding, Woven Hearts and Stars, Gift Wrapping, Banknote Folds, Origami (paper folding) and Christmas Paper Crafts all combined with a variety of projects that are decorative and fun, artistic and stylized, multi-piece or practical. He can adopt his craft to fit a variety of seasons and occasions such as: Christmas, Easter, Hanukana, Birthdays, Mothering Sunday, Father’s Day, Weddings, Christenings and Valentine’s day. Steve’s projects use simple paper folding techniques and are all aimed at beginners but are also interesting to the more experience crafter. No project demands prior experience, and each have been designed for anyone who wants exciting, yet speedy results. The participants will be surprised at how easy it is to achieve truly amazing creations with a confident and imaginative hand, so going home with delightful and unique souvenirs of their cruise!
Paper Capers
(Paper folding show for children of all ages

Unfold the secrets of the wonderful world of paper-folding. Nimble fingers get ready as Steve shows how, with just a few simple folds, anyone can transform an ordinary rectangle or square of paper into terrific items which are practical, fun to use, flutter through the air, magically tip over or even go bang! Be amazed by the ever-ending shapes created from a pleated pieced of paper known as troublewit. Discover the story of the Captain’s paper hat, anchor and ship’s wheel. Learn the secrets of walking through a newspaper and those of the magical paper rings. Steve does not patronize or talk down to their audience and, because of this, Paper Capers is a totally engaging and fun experience. All that is required is an area to fold a piece of paper upon. No glue, scissors, gummed tape or any other items of equipment are needed, therefore the show is an extremely clean, fun and safe activity. Loads of audience participation and stacks of paper-folding enjoyment for all concerned.
Biography
Steve is author, entertainer and origami expert. He studied in Japan with top Japanese origami masters, thereby acquiring a deeper knowledge of a subject that has always fascinated him. Steve is also a member of the most famous magical society in the world, The Magic Circle. He holds the degree of Associate of The Inner Magic Circle with Silver Star.
Steve has appeared on many prestigious television programmes such as: Blue Peter, The Generation Game, Record Breakers’, Hand in Hand, Collector’s Lot in the UK and has presented twenty-six programmes titled Origami for the Children’s Ch
... annel and six programmes titled Fold-A-Sarus for Channel 4. He was the origami consultant on the recent Hallmark production of Dinotopia and the Blue Dragon Food commercial – East meets West.
Steve combines his talents to design items for television, feature films and major advertising campaigns. He has have written many highly successful craft books for children and adults, including Amazing Origami, Step-by-Step Origami, The New Origami, Paper Creations, Paper: Fold It and a picture book – The Crane’s Gift. One of their most recent publications is Origami Inspired by Japanese Prints, produced by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York and published by Viking in the USA and The British Museum Publications in the UK. Steve has made inroads into the international marketing scene and his publications are available worldwide.
