Singer, songwriter and performer Nina Garcia began her musical journey at the age of nine, when she performed along side her mum, dad and brother, as fiddle player and singer in their family folk rock band, The Sydling Stompers. The group played many varied gigs and supported the likes of the Dubliners and Davey Arthur from the Fureys. They recorded two albums and were favourites at well known events such as Guernsey International and Sidmouth Folk Festival. By the time Nina had turned fourteen, she had been featured on BBC Radio 2’s ‘Folk on 2’, had performed twice at London’s renowne

Nina formed Celtic rock band ‘Jigsaw’ in 1996. Along side her brother, well known Dorset based fiddle player, Benny Wain, she toured the UK extensively, performing six nights a week. She turned her hand to composing original material for the group, who were proud to perform at Kilburn Irish Festival, London supporting Shane McGowan and the Popes. Jigsaw recorded an album and were invited to Red Bus Studios, London to feature on an O’Neills compilation, where they were offered a contract with Sony. During this time, Nina was also lead vocalist in Jazz quintet ‘Section 5’.
1999 saw the beginning of a seven year musical career based in Phuket, Thailand and Singapore. Predominantly lead vocals and fiddle player, as part of a Celtic pop line up, Nina was also lead vocalist in a Jazz funk band, along side four of Thailand’s finest musicians. Again, performing six nights a week, to audiences from across the globe.
