Biography

Nicholas Gentry has been performing magic since he was eight years old, when his cousin gifted him a Fisher Price magic set. He headlined for a year at the Comedy Palace in San Diego before taking his show "on the road" and becoming a magician for-hire. A former Peace Corps volunteer, Gentry has also worked as a college English teacher at places like Carnegie Mellon University, and Temple University. Before that, he was an English teacher in Japan.

Meet the Act

I am a former Peace Corps volunteer (Ghana '04-'06), former teacher of English in Japan, and former college professor who decided to abandon all of that in favor of pursuing a far more PRACTICAL career as a philosopher magician!
I learned my first magic trick at the age of eight, but I didn't seriously consider doing this as a profession until I was well into my thirties. That's when I met a professional traveling magician who convinced me that I could pursue my childhood dream. I've been at it ever since.
