Biography

I am always going to be a journalist at heart. News matters and is essential. Growing up, I knew I wanted to work in the news, and in college, I decided to follow the broadcasting track. One internship landed me at 1180 WHAM and the other at WOKR-TV, now WHAM-TV. After graduating college, I started my first television news position as a morning production assistant at WHEC-TV. Six months later, I headed to Binghamton, NY, to WIVT-TV, where I was a weekend anchor, reporter, and producer. WXXA-TV was next in 2000, where I was the lead reporter for the 6:30 pm newscast. Two years later, I ... returned to Rochester, NY, to report for Channel 13 News, a great station! It’s now WHAM-TV. I boarded a plane for Las Vegas, NV nearly five years later.
VIVA LAS VEGAS
I spent three years at FOX 5 News. In 2016, I was offered to return to Fox 5 Las Vegas to reprise my morning reporter role. I jumped back in front of the camera to cheer up the morning audience with a slew of feature stories that helped people understand what was happening in the community. I won an Emmy Award for a story on who signs off on the street names in Las Vegas. Ray Arzate was the photojournalist on that story and is seriously one of the best. I was also honored to earn the title of “Best Reporter” in the Best of Las Vegas Awards.
ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT
In 2008, I created Mike Doria Ink. which later became Mike Doria Media, as I expanded it from a small copywriting business to one doing all sorts of media for small businesses, companies, and organizations. Between 2007 to 2015, I was a freelance writer/reporter for Life & Style and Us Weekly Magazines.
Additionally, I’ve also had some Public Relations, Marketing, and Social Media jobs and spent almost a year in radio as a Digital Content Manager. I also hosted a segment called ‘The Blog Report’ on KXNT 840 AM. In 2020, I boarded a plane again, this time to Fort Myers, FL, to take on the role of AM Content Manager at WFTX-TV.
In 2018, I earned my certification as a Life Coach from the Life Purpose Institute. I help people through personal and career coaching and Mike Doria Media. However, these are both part-time gigs.
