Biography
Mezzo-soprano, Michelle C. Hall, is known for her versatility as an actress on both the opera and musical theatre stage. Ms. Hall made her European performance debut with the Trentino Opera Festival as the impulsive, yet loveable Cherubino in W.A. Mozart's "Le nozze di Figaro." Ms. Hall has been a frequent artist in the Mozart repertoire. She was described as "remarkably talented" by the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival where she delivered a "fascinating performance" as the tempestuous Dorabella in "Così fan tutte."
Ms. Hall was a semi-finalist in the prestigious Margot and Bill Winspear C
... ompetition (2011), located in the Dallas-Ft.Worth area. Her operatic highlights include Bradamante in Handel’s Alcina with the University of North Texas Opera Theatre, the Third Lady in Mozart’s The Magic Flute with the American Singers Opera Project, Octavian in Strauss’ Der Rosenkavalier, and Orfeo in Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice, both with the Crittenden Opera Studio, Cherubino with the Trentino Opera Festival and the Buffalo Opera Unlimited, Dorabella with the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival in Mozart’s Così fan tutte, and Zerlina in Don Giovanni with Buffalo Opera Unlimited, among others.
Ms. Hall made her professional theater debut in the summer of 2012 with the College Light Opera Company in Falmouth, MA. She was most noted for her performance as Evangeline Harcourt in Cole Porter’s lively musical, Anything Goes. Additionally, she performed ensemble as well as supporting roles in their productions of Ruddigore, The Music Man, The Student Prince, and many more.
As a concert soloist, she maintains a variety of repertoire. Ms. Hall’s credits include John Rutter’s Magnificat, Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Dona Nobis Pacem, Dietrich Buxtehude’s Cantate Dominum, Antonio Vivaldi’s Gloria, as well as various Broadway revues in the Dallas area, as well as in Europe. She has also appeared in performance with the Pittsburgh Symphony alongside the great Marvin Hamlisch, and was honored as the National Anthem vocalist for the Boston Red Sox, Minnesota Twins, Baltimore Orioles, Texas Rangers, and the New York Yankees.
Ms. Hall completed her Masters of Music Degree in Vocal Performance with a Specialized Field in Opera, magna cum laude, from The University of North Texas in December 2011. She has studied voice with Sari Gruber, Barbara Demaio Caprilli, and Lynn Eustis. She has collaborated with world-class directors and conductors, including David Gately from the Metropolitan Opera, Stephen Mosteller of New York City Opera, and esteemed Italian director, Patrizia di Paolo.
In 2018, Ms. Hall co-founded the professional performance ensemble, "La Bella Voce," in which she served as one of the principal vocalists.
