... performs for events including birthdays, weddings and cooperative events. She takes pride in using her skills to project the timeless sounds of artists such as Etta James, Jill Scott, D’angelo, Otis Redding and Anita Baker.
Reggae, Jazz, R&B, Disco and Funk played a crucial part in Lashayah’s vocal/artist development. Her personal professional agenda is to reignite the essence of true Black soul music in modern times. Lashayah is known for displaying confident and empowering performances and has recently begun a new line of work alongside feminist artist groups pushing the importance of Black female representation. Lashayah has also been songwriting and producing an EP centred around the themes of emotional-sensitivity and introspective struggle; acting as a “window” to show her audience a more vulnerable and honest side to her artistry.
