Description

Harpist - I can play over fifty pieces from memory. I have played hundreds of weddings and many solo shows.
Singer - I used to co-own, was music director for, and sang with The Ten Tenors. I have heaps of experience singing shows. I also do Elvis impersonations accompanying myself on the harp. Singing forms a big part of my solo shows.
Violinist - I am an accomplished violinist. I do a very mean Devil Went Down to Georgia. I also play classically.
Medieval musician - I play the vielle (precursor to the violin) and medieval gothic harp. I also lead medieval dance sessions and have pres ... ented at the Abbey Medieval Festival as well as the Woodford Folk Festival in Australia.
Conductor - I lead several choirs on the Sunshine Coast and can very easily work with groups to help them gain stronger, more confident and overall pleasing sounds.
I put together shows that are engaging to a wide range of demographics.

Biography

Kim Kirkman
After originally training as a violist (B Mus), Kim moved to voice (Post Grad Dip) and became co-owner, musical director and member of The Ten Tenors. He has sung solos in oratorio in Cairns, Townsville, Mackay and Brisbane as well as solo and chorus for Opera Queensland and the Victorian State Opera.
Having a very varied career, he has conducted many choirs (Blackstone Ipswich Cambrian Choir, Mackay Choral Society, Bach Society of Queensland etc), orchestras (Gold Coast Philharmonic etc) and mixed ensembles in Australia and overseas; as well as working as a script-writer, ad ... ministrator, composer and teacher.
Kim taught strings, composition, conducting, music technology and voice at the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music, CQUniversity, Mackay from 2004 to 2012. He also gained a Masters of Learning Management.
In 2016 he recorded eight harp CDs and gave over 110 public performances. He is a regular performer at festivals and continues to give many solo concerts.
Kim currently conducts the Inspiration Choir, Inspiration Project Choir (renowned for performing classical music at the Woodford Folk Festival), Caloundra Community Choir, and the Caloundra Chorale and is a guest conductor for Oriana Choir and is in high demand as an adjudicator and vocal workshop leader.
He has written the accompanying scripts for two Purcell semi-operas as well as The Messiah and the Man (a Veteran's journey to peace accompanied by arias and choruses from Handel's Messiah).
Kim arranges harp, orchestral, choral and violin scores to sell online and has over 400 works published on sheetmusicplus.com. His arrangements vary in style from Bach to Taylor Swift.
