Kevin Taylor

Biography

I decided I wanted to play the drums back when I was 11, my main influence being ‘Roger Taylor’ of Queen. I got enrolled onto a local ensemble group playing snare drum, where began learning my first rhythms and how to sight read. 
After picking up these skills I thought it time I moved onto the drum kit, where I started working through my Trinity Guildhall grades. 
I joined several bands with friends and did very well on the local music scene. 
My ability grew, allowing me to join paid function groups and party bands where I really began to feel quite comfortable as an entertaine ... r at weddings, corporate functions, party bands, originals acts, pantomime, musical theatre and circus. 
Around this passion I also developed an interest for the rest of the production requirements of live shows and studio work, so I enrolled on a Music Production course where my career gained more momentum learning the art of sound production. 
Whilst at college I was the resident session player for my peers, drum tutor and technician for the college. I was also then made Events manager and coordinator where I would plan, organise and carry out the events. This gained me invaluable experience playing on many amazing projects and with a vast array of different incredible musicians. During this role I was specially selected to land a role of drum tech with Stereophonics drummer ‘Jamie Morisson’ on a special collaboration project. 
After finishing with top marks at college I went on to perfect my new skills Internationally, at holiday destinations and cruise ships, where I also joined forces with some of the artists onboard and played to some more big audiences.
