I am a singer who can also accompany myself on the piano (please check out my Demo Reel) When I do a performance, I combine musical tracks or my own piano accompaniment to present the best of the musical genres that I love: "swing" tunes, jazz standards, the "pop" hits of the 1950's, 60's, 70's, 80's, and the great songs from Broadway and motion pictures. Biography

I have loved to sing and perform since I was a child. Not thinking that I could make a living at it, I studied the Health Sciences in college and then attended Dental School at the University of Pennsylvania. I practiced for several years, but the practice left me very unsatisfied.
I applied to graduate school in the performing arts and was accepted into the Masters Degree program in Acting and Directing at Florida Atlantic University. I continued my theater training at Michigan State University and graduated with a Ph D degree. I moved to New York City and spent fifteen years performing a ... nd directing plays in NY, Michigan, Florida and Kentucky. Several singing opportunities arose and I began to study music more seriously. I performed in cabarets, theaters, private parties, hotels, weddings , libraries and retirement communities. Singing and playing the piano opened up more employment opportunities and I began to perform on a regular basis.
My performances are self-contained with my own digital piano and sound system, and selective use of musical tracks. My performances range from energetic dance rhythms to romantic ballads. My baritone voice has been described as “warm and soothing”, and I love to get audience members up on the dance floor or singing along with their favorite cover songs.
I was described in a Saratoga Living magazine feature article entitled: A Man For All Seasons / Dentist, Actor, Singer, Professor, Cantor, Rabbi as “ . . . a gifted man who has accomplished a great deal intellectually, artistically and within every community he has touched.”
I have never missed a performance or backed out of a performance once I agreed to do the job.

Experience

I have been performing since I was a child. I returned to singing and acting as an adult after six years of graduate school. I moved to New York City and began working in local showcases, cabaret performances, concerts in public libraries throughout Queens and Brooklyn, NY; private parties, AARP organization meetings, church and synagogue groups, retirement communities and concert venues in and around the New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Philadelphia metropolitan area.

Previous Clients

The Grove: an upscale apartment residence in Saratoga Springs, NY. I performed as a singer/pianist for the residents at a pre-Easter social hour get together party on March 31st, 2023. I have performed at gated communities and residence club houses throughout south Florida (Broward and Palm Beach counties) including the Century Village theatres. I just returned from a ten venue tour of south Florida.

Acting Experience

I. have been a professional actor for over twenty years with extensive experience in stage and film. I am classically trained and have performed in professional stage productions and guest artist roles at Kalamazoo College, Miami-Dade College, and regional theaters in Michigan, Kentucky and Florida. My favorite roles include Sheridan Whiteside in The Man Who Came To Dinner, Leonato in Much Ado About Nothing, and Horace Vandergelder in Hello, Dolly!

Meet the Act

I have been performing and singing since childhood, but really started doing it professionally since the mid-1990's. I have worked in cabarets and musical revues in Greenwich Village, performed in a variety of hotels and theaters in South Florida, and performed in gated communities and country clubhouses throughout the Northeast U.S. About ten years ago I began performing as my own piano accompanist and find that to be a very fulfilling way to express myself musically.

I am an experienced, ordained rabbi/cantor who teaches children and adults how to read Hebrew and chant the prayers and biblical readings to prepare them for their Bar/Bat/B'nai Mitzvah service.
