Biography

I flunked out of third grade because I couldn’t read. After the second try, I still couldn’t read any better than I could the first go around. I graduated from high school illiterate, received a B.A. in Psychology and couldn’t read a newspaper. Presently as a Professor Emeritus, I read no better than 6th grade.
I received a doctorate with honors, wrote three of the largest selling text books in my field, became a Fulbright scholar to teach a theory I developed on how to help people achieve. The theory was presented at the American University in Cairo Research Conference and select ... ed as the feature article in the conference proceedings.
I also actually worked for a living: paper boy, dishwasher, fry cook, iron foundry worker, farm hand, paint store clerk, oil field worker, semi-pro baseball player, used car salesman, school teacher and rehabilitation counselor.
Administratively, I have been a restaurant manager of one of the largest restaurant chains in the Midwest, furniture stripping and repair proprietor buying a company out of bankruptcy and developing it into one of the best in the state, General Manager of one of the most prestigious automobile dealerships in the South, first Director of one of the largest Head Start programs in the nation, and Dean of Education at a Research 1, flagship university.
Retired in 2020 and been performing stand up comedy ever since. Read More
