An experienced professional event host/compere/MC/Charity Auctioneer & Voice of God with over 1000 events behind him. No matter what the event, formal or otherwise, his style is personable but authoritative. London-based, he is prepared to travel anywhere.
James Hasler is an event host/compere/ MC, auctioneer and announcer who has a background in both customer service and the performing arts. He spent the best part of his 28 years in industry working for some of the world’s most prestigious car manufacturers, including Jaguar and Aston Martin and he was a champion for customer service with Saab. However, throughout those years in the industry, he performed regularly at many live events, as well as acting on stage in his spare time. Following his extensive acting career as a successful semi-professional, James furthered his skills at City Li
... t in the City of London. It is these stagecraft skills and his years of experience in customer service that he uses now helping clients run their events with impact. In 2012, James became a Team Leader at the London Olympic and Paralympic Games and constantly guided fresh teams of “Games Makers” throughout both events. Additionally, in 2012 James trained as a professional toastmaster so he could moderate formal events. Following training, he became a Fellow with the Guild of International Professional Toastmasters and has since obtained notoriety as one of the UK’s leading Master of Ceremonies in his guise as “The Man in the Red Coat” and was awarded the coveted title of Toastmaster of the Year in 2019 and more recently was the Global Winner in his role as Master of Ceremonies at the International Wedding Awards. It is in this role that he works with seven of the City of London’s Livery Companies as their Beadle. (A ceremonial role which involves much event moderation in this day and age) In addition to his roles as MC/Compere, James is also a highly successful charity auctioneer and since 2013 has raised over £2.75m for good causes. Something he is particularly proud of and gets a real thrill out of. Finally, in his role as James Hasler - Voice Artist, he can provide multi-accented recordings from his home studio or even act as a live event "Voice of God" and is used in this capacity regularly in parallel with his role as professional Compere of awards ceremonies in particular. With now over 1000 events behind him he has worked all over the world leading events, from the 3 Vs - Venice, Vienna and (Las) Vegas, to Frankfurt, Brussels, Malaga, Basel, Bilbao, Brussels, Budapest, Cologne, Frankfurt, Malaga, Marbella, and extensively throughout London and the UK. He is equally at home in someone's back garden for an intimate wedding, as he is in a stadium in front of 40000 people. So whether the event is an informal celebration, a themed event (see the pictures of Dumbledore, Kia and the Games Maker) or a formal function at The Mansion House, James has the training, experience and personality to make all feel welcome and the event appear seamless.

I've known James now for some years now since he became The Beadle for my livery company, The Worshipful Company of Marketors. The phrase cool, calm and collected was invented for James. As an event organiser myself I know what it takes to put any event on, never mind something as high profile as, for example, a banquet at the Mansion House in the presence of the Lord Mayor of the City of London. He works in tangent with our Clerk to provide a 'seamless service' at these events, whilst maintaining a very good humoured and professional demeanour. I liken him to a swan. He appears serene on the surface but you know he's paddling furiously underneath to make sure everything runs smoothly. I would highly recommend James.

I have known James for more years than I care to mention. We have worked together on many occasions over those years and I continue to hire him regularly on a consultancy agreement. He is trustworthy, reliable and not frightened of a hard days work. However, what sets him apart from the average is his vast researched knowledge and his personable style, with which he never fails to engage with his audience.

The moment I saw and heard James running a trade show I hired him to host our most important event of the year, the LS symposium. He is a fast learner and acted as if he had been in our industry for years and he performed a great job of keeping the delegates from getting carried away with the time. He ran the event in a very professional way, making a great connection with all the speakers and most importantly with the audience.

James was an extraordinary addition to our wedding day. He was incredibly helpful in herding guests to and fro, getting people to where they needed to be on time, and spoke beautifully. He absolutely allowed us to just sit back and enjoy the day without any worry about timing or where to be, and we'd highly recommend using him!

We met James at my friend's wedding in August 2022 and immediately wanted to book him for our own wedding in September 2023. It was the right decision, as James took all the pain out of coordination on the day of our wedding, and made everything run so smoothly.
He was easy to deal with in advance, super helpful with suggestions around speeches and extra little touches for the day, and he thought of things we wouldn't have. He worked really collaboratively with all the suppliers on the day, and many commented how fantastic he was at the master of ceremonies. A real highlight of our wedding, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Thank you!

James was our toast master at our wedding in August. What can I say about James? He was just amazing. He really made us feel comfortable, he was on the ball and the day just went really smoothly. He was very caring and funny and helped us get through the day. Things can always go wrong but no one knew and James helped coordinate everything. We were on time for everything and it’s exactly what we wanted. He made our day so much easier and better I wouldn’t have even thought of a toast master but it’s 100% worth it and so is James! Thank you James for making our wedding special.

A huge thank you from Nick and I.
James you truly exceeded our expectations and we would 100% recommended your services to our friends and family. Thank you for looking after us throughout our wedding day and making the day run smoothly as you assured us it would. You removed any worries we had about the day, you were highly professional and it was clear how much you love your work.
James, we had witnessed you in action for the first time back in 2019 at a cousins wedding. I remember at that time thinking to myself he’s good, no he’s REALLY good! You had such a wonderful presence and natural way with all the guests. You were so personable and calm with the family and friends which made a huge impact with organisation throughout the day. This was clearly evidenced by the fact the wedding was not only running on time but dare I say early. Never such a thing for Indian weddings.
I then had the pleasure of seeing you again at another family members wedding in 2021. No surprise, as t ...he bride and groom had the pleasure of seeing you during the 2019 cousin wedding and well had to have you sprinkle your magic at their event.
Then in 2022, i was planning my big day and there was one thing I was sure of, I needed James! The man in the red coat, the Toastmaster & Master of Ceremonies to guide our guest through our big day, you would allow my family to enjoy the day the fullest and give Nick and I the ability to spend time with our guests in the knowledge we were in his safe hands. You did this but so much more while looking calm and relaxed the whole time.
From start to finish you have listened to our needs and handled our event with care, providing a high level of service throughout. You provided some great and useful advice also to both of us for our day which helped us shape our beautiful event.
You were a dream to have at our wedding, friendly and welcoming always. You supported us and our families from that initial meeting back in 2019. James you have provided me, my family and wider family with such an outstanding superior service.
You were extremely professional on our day and to be honest you felt like one of the family Everything was organised well and presented with the up most care, passion and LOVE.

James was the MC at a wedding in Claridge’s, Mayfair recently. It was an absolute delight to work with him. He has a lovely way of dealing with guests so that they are where they are supposed to be at the right time. He deals with people in a calm and friendly way. The event was pretty complex and James managed to take a lot of stress away from the family and wedding planner. He made my job as the celebrant easier too. Highly recommend.

James has been our Beadle and Master of Ceremonies at the Worshipful Company of Marketors since before I joined the company in 2013. He ensures every one of our ceremonial courts, banquets and dinners runs smoothly and efficiently. With these kinds of events, there’s always the possibility that they will overrun (eg the guest speaker arrives so we have to start late) but James makes sure we adhere to the strict timetable so that we always finish bang on time.
When I worked at the Worshipful Company of Hackney Carriage Drivers, I hired James for our Installation Court and Dinner because I wanted the peace of mind that he would run the evening like clockwork. Now that I am at the Worshipful Company of International Bankers, I have done just the same. He always does a great job. Thank you, James!

We had James as a Toastmaster for our multi-faith (Hindu/Jewish) wedding last month and he was absolutely brilliant. In the lead up to the wedding, our meeting with James helped us plan the order of the day and his reassuring manner put our minds at ease that everything would run smoothly. James had really good tips on how to effectively organise the reception and helped to ensure our vision became a reality.
On the day, James helped handle some delays with our other suppliers and was always a calm presence (which was much needed!) He worked really well with all the suppliers and managed to get our event back on track while simultaneously keeping all of our guests updated of the changing plans.
James' knowledge of both Hindu & Jewish weddings is second to none and his explanations of the events during the day was really detailed and helped to keep our guests informed and engaged with all the different traditions and customs.
James was invaluable on the day and is the ideal Toastmast ...er. All of our guests commented on how brilliant he was and we would 100% recommend him for any event. Thank you again James!

We look at the following;
Why do you have a concern in the first place
Tips to help minimalise anxiety
How to structure your presentation/speech
Tips on the actual delivery
How to best use microphones (if applicable)
Tips on setting up - if presenting virtually
