Description
Island Rhythms Audition For America's Got Talent The L A Convention Center, on February 15, 2015. I received an email back stating. If chosen to move on to our on-camera round, you will be notified by Spring 2015. We provide Authentic Caribbean Entertainment in the forms of Steel Drum and Reggae bands, We can also provide dancers performing Fire Eating Limbo, Fire Eating and more. As well as DJ's, and Caribbean cuisine with our food catering services. Our Steel Drum Band has traveled and tour through sixteen Countries. Our Reggae band members have performed with some of the reggae greats; Eek- ... A-Mouse, Ras Michael, Buju Banton, Poto Banton. We have made Three tours for the US Troops to Camp Fallujah, Iraq and also in Bosnia and Kosovo our most recent February 2010.
Biography
My father Raymond Lawrence and his two brothers Gerald Lawrence and the late Kenneth Lawrence who you see in the top black & white pic with John Wayne from a gig back in 1965, were all original members of Trinidad Steel Drum Band haling from Port Of Spain Trinidad. They began touring various parts of the world back in 1958. They were one of the first known Steel Drum Band in the United States back in 1960.
I was born in Port of Spain Trinidad and became a band member as a Drummer/Steel Drum player after my arrival in California in 1972. Before the passing of my Uncle Kenneth, I was offered
... the opportunity to begin managing the group. Formerly the Trinidad Steel Drum Band and now Island Rhythms Production. I am keeping the legacy alive and moving forward. Now offering various forms of Caribbean entertainment and food catering services.
Experience
Growing up i observed my farther making & tuning Pan / Steel Drums for some of the top bands in Trinidad. I arrived in U S A & begun preforming with my father & my uncles a few years later, there band was call the Trinidad Steel Drum. Performing private events, fairs for over 40 years in the U S. After my uncle's passing i took over the business & changed the name to Island Rhythms Productions. I'm continuing the legacy of my father & my uncles.
