We are a versatile band who can perform at venues from presidency level conferences (African Leadership Forum) to name just one, to intermate live lounge, resort, hotel, festival, pub and club venues.
We play many genres from African High Life, Old School, Jazz, Reggae and modern music.
We have a vast repertoire and our performances can last up to 4 hours.
We can perform as a full band, combo band or African band incorporating traditional drums.

Gumbey Gumbey has vast band experience, playing with several different bands, genre's and venues.
The energy and entertainment that is brought to the act along with the passion is second to none.
The stamina and repertoire the band performs with can usually last up to a four hour show, entertainment at its best!

Kwame and his band GumbeyGumbey were an outstanding addition to our party! Their music selection was truly uplifting, and their performance was top-class. Kwame is a fantastic performer who genuinely engages with the audience, creating a high-energy atmosphere that got everyone involved. The band interacted seamlessly with our guests and brought an incredible amount of energy to the event. I would strongly recommend Kwame and his band to anyone looking for a talented and engaging band for their special occasion. They are a sure way to make your event a memorable one.

I have hired Gumbey Gumbey several times for events, weekend gigs at the beach and holiday parties. They are amazing musicians, full of energy and fun and i will continue to use them as they really bring a party atmosphere to the beach. I have also hired them for weekend cool jazz vibes over dinner and lunchtime. They are a very professional and can play to any crowd or event.

I was so thrilled when I discovered GumbeyGumbey. For 30 years I had been searching for a band in Ghana who would MOVE...and therefor similarly excite their audience. GumbeyGumbey are movers and shakers, great musicians, great singers and great fun. They are extremely popular with our hotel and bar guests and we use them at least twice a month. On Saturdays they play reggae for 4 hours. On Sunday, they play highlife, old and new. Their repertoire is extensive playing cool jazz, afrobeat's and old standards. Good luck to anyone that books them. You will not be disappointed .

Meet the Act

Gumbey (Kwame) grew up in a musical house and soon came to realize he has too much music passion in him. He then chose to follow music and take it as a career.
Music is his safe heaven from pains, struggle worry and the stress that comes with life. He is driven by the inspiration words and his passion for good music.
He is multi facet musician and plays calabash, drums, keyboard, bass guitar and sings. He is the lead vocal of the group.
