I can highly recommend Firm Handshake for any decent event. Apart from having a terrific moniker, which looks graceful on any promo, he brings a wild amount of energy, surprise selections, and gob to a room. I invited him to play our festival in Berlin off the back of hearing and loving his radio show. He turned up- navigating BER airport so already tens for commitment and initiative, knows where cables go, got going quickly on the gear we threw at him, and was generally a solid and helpful addition to the event. His set was exactly what I hoped for; a high energy, everybody moving, unpredictable trip through genres and styles all diced up and presented with chops. He coped flawlessly with a tech issue during the set, keeping the floor engaged, and didn’t lose a body throughout. In short he nailed the brief, and was voted set of the weekend. I don’t know if he does any other way, but the lad clearly knows his music-deeply, and I’d trust him to do my grandfather’s 80th.

“While running 'Common Ground', a free social dedicated to connecting the dots of the often siloed underground music scene in London and Brighton, I booked George (Firm Handshake), having followed him for some time on social media and enjoying clips of previous live performances and radio shows. His contagious positivity and energy as a person carried into his DJ sets, paired with his boundaryless selection makes him in my opinion one of the most exciting DJs to watch live in his generation. He was also a bit of a dream to book as he arrived early to the venue, allowing himself to prepare and greet the other artists. He offered to help setting up and taking down equipment for the event, and maintained a friendly and courteous manner throughout the night towards attendees and other performers.

Hello! My name is George, and I am incredibly excited to offer my skills and experience as a DJ. With a decade of experience behind the decks at bars, clubs and on the radio, I’ve mastered the art of creating unforgettable moments across a multitude of dancefloors, radio shows and broadcasts alike.
Currently, I’m the weekend DJ for a leading chain of bars in London, delivering high-energy sets filled with pop, floor-fillers, and uplifting dance classics.
In 2023, I had the privilege of playing at RebelCabanyal Festival in Germany, and holding a residency at the Peaches and Cream Clu ... b in the Canary Islands during the holiday season. I also hold residencies on two of London’s top internet radio stations, Aaja Music and Balamii, where I’ve continued to refine my sound. My sound and track selection can vary from laidback and intimate, to lively and vibrant – and everything in between. Whatever the atmosphere of the party or venue – I take pride in being able to match it, with my deep, considered taste and proven mixing skills.
What sets me apart is my ability to craft set lists that perfectly match the vibe of any party or crowd. Whether it’s a festival, club night, or an intimate bar, I know how to keep people moving and engaged by my broad and deep track selections. I’m confident that my experience, ability to collaboratively curate setlists with clients, and passion for music would be a great fit for your team. My style has been described as “a celestial mix of glitz, gabber, and ecstasy that disturbs dancefloors and cajoles the ears of all dance music devotees.” My references note that I always create a positive and energetic relationship with the crowd, which keeps them engaged, satisfied and always dancing throughout any performance. I am highly skilled with CDJs and controllers, and I have a deep understanding of what it takes to create a memorable and appealing set.
In addition to my club and radio residencies, I have collaborated on several notable projects. I’ve performed back-to-back sets with Skywalka, a prolific drum 'n' bass DJ based in London, and served as a DJ for Ebi Soda and Max Wheeler of Anushka – the names in the contemporary jazz scene in London. I've also created numerous video performances of my sets with my friend and collaborator Larry Reeve, a member of PolyOp, a progressive techno outfit that recently played at the Awamu Together Festival in the UK and hosted a brilliantly successful event at Loki in Brixton. I have co-ordinated and played at a host of successful nights in Brighton, such as Vis Com Prom and 2020 Vision, which helped raise funds for my Degree Show at University. I’ve played at Open Decks nights at Planet Wax in London and had the opportunity to play at Common Ground, a free social, dedicated to “connecting the dots of the often siloed underground music scene”.
I have also frequently collaborated with Moon Rack Records, a diverse and vibrant underground electronic music label based in Bristol, UK, who has been featured on Bandcamp’s “Best of Electronic” three years running. Our collaborations have included club nights, and album art projects for the releases in their label.
My content consistently engages a loyal following on my Instagram, where I interact with my fans and share my latest mixes and sets.
I believe my deep love of club culture, along with my considered tastes, experience playing live across a range of venues, and my ability to specifically cater to all moods and dancefloors, would ensure that I would be a great addition to your roster of DJs.
