Based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, Firefly is a multi-award winning live band, including our recent award: Winners of the Best UK Wedding Band 2020 (International Wedding Awards).. Our musicians have performed on television shows such as 90210, ITV’s I’m a Celebrity… and also BBC national radio. Band members have also supported major international artists, working with performers as diverse as Katie Melua and The Weather Girls.
Firefly is a wedding, party & function band, and includes female and male lead vocals, keyboards, bass, guitar, drums and optional saxophone. Available as a ... nything from a 3-piece to an 8-piece band, we can tailor our package to suit any budget or event. With up to 3 hours of live music + disco music between live sets and lots of other goodies thrown in, we guarantee a packed dance floor and will take care of entertaining your guests so you can relax in the knowledge that everyone is having the time of their life!
We know how to get your party started and we care as much about you and your guests having fun as you do. We will tailor our set to your tastes and we pride ourselves on the wonderful comments we receive.
Firefly is recognised throughout the South West and across the UK. We have played at hundreds of weddings and parties, as well as at large corporate occasions, media functions and charity events. Our venues have included football stadiums, conference and hotel facilities, open air festivals and hundreds of private parties locations.

Biography

Firefly – one of the most in-demand function bands of the Midlands and South West – were formed in 2003, and have performed hundreds of live stage shows at some of the most prestigious and exciting venues in England. Firefly has played for some prestigious clients, including headlining at the RAF’s Battle of Britain concert, entertaining 1,000’s of troops; playing at MoD and NATO concerts in Andover, Innsworth and Corsham; playing at The Law Society’s annual Ball, playing at the Lloyds TSB’s Xmas Party at The Centaur, a concert venue with a capacity of 3,500; and headlining on NYE ... at the Cheltenham Town Hall. This NYE, for the second year running, Firefly was chosen to play at the prestigious and famous 5 star hotel The Royal Horseguards in Trafalgar Square/Whitehall. The band also recently played at a private function for Duncan Bannatyne (Dragon’s Den) at his hotel in Somerset.
Firefly is a group of consummate professionals, whose members have more than four decades of stage experience between them. Between them, the band members have worked with the likes of The Weather Girls, Katie Melua, Steve Winwood, The Wonderstuff, Lipps Inc, Mott the Hoople, Fairport Convention, Robert Plant, Judas Preist, and Nigel Kennedy. The band has attracted press interest, and its lead singer, Suzy Jacoby, has appeared on BBC television and radio, and recently had two of her songs played on the hit US show 90210 (series 2, episode 17) as well as Jennifer Anniston move trailer, He’s Just Not That Into You.
Firefly bring energy and verve to the live stage, where every performance is a special occasion. When Firefly rock a house, they really rock it (at a recent wedding gig, the band did a record seven encores!) The band can play for up to 3 hours of live music, and should you wish, you can also add a jazz set, or DJ to your night. iPod disco music, to suit your tastes, is played between sets. The iPod music has been mixed by a professional DJ so there are no gaps between songs. The music includes latest chart hits. They can also provide live jazz music for your wedding breakfast, champagne reception, and even during your wedding ceremony.

Mastering many different genres is the true hallmark of an accomplished and professional band, and Firefly will rev up your audience with rock and roll, fizz the house with disco and electro pop, and serenade guests with smooth romantic jazz and ballads. Firefly has the range and repertoire to delight every musical taste. The band is available as a 3-piece, right up to an 8-piece. The band comes with a professional sound / lighting engineer and state of the art equipment is used (2kW QSC PA system and full laser, disco and LED lights).
