My set will include a variety of Standards, Ballads, Bossa Novas, Blues, up-tempos and an occasional Classical piece of which I have a jazz arrangement, as well. I can adapt to many musical styles, as I am a trained vocalist. However, my preference is Jazz. I was recently on tour with Wynton Marsalis performing in a chorus. The Abyssinian Mass Tour. I go between gospel, jazz, blues and Classical, frequently.

Biography

Out of Houston, Texas, Jazz vocalist, Eustacia Foster moved to New York in 1999 to pursue her career in music. With her classically trained voice, she combines Blues and Jazz to present a unique sound to music lovers.
Eustacia studied music formally in both Classical and Jazz Conservatories; graduating from Texas Southern University and New School of Jazz and Contemporary Music. Under the tutelage of Jazz legends, Reggie Workman (John Coltrane's bassist), Charles Tolliver and Junior Mance; Eustacia excelled in small ensembles and Big Bands. She continues to perform with various bands i ... n addition to her own group.
Eustacia's performances include appearances in several clubs and Jam sessions, including; Jazz at Lincloln Center's After Hours, Cleopatra's Needle and several other venues in and around New York city. Aside from the schooling, she performed with Reggie Workman's Soundscape Ensemble, Billy Harper's Voices and in 2013 went on tour with Wynton Marsalis's Abyssinian Mass Tour, under the conductor, Damien Sneed and with Junior Mance's Blues Ensemble at Dizzy's Club Coca Cola. And in 2018, she sung onboard and worked for Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, as a featured singer in the Jazz Lounge. As well as additionally, she performs as a leader of her own Jazz quartet.
Performing with her own group a typical set might include a combination of the Blues and Jazz standards. If requested and if the ensemble is equipped with Classical musicians she can sing some Negro Spirituals and Classical Arias (depending on the setting). She has the ability to move in and out of different musical styles because of her pristine technique and voice. However, she maintains the integrity of each style with her down to earth delivery of music.
Her primary influences include vocalists Kathleen Battle, Sarah Vaughan, Ernestine Anderson, Ella Fitzgerald and Rachelle Ferrell.
Currently, Eustacia is working to become a better composter and pianist. She wants to be able to sing in any genre without compromising my technique and the genre's style. Becoming more and more unique is the primary goal of the singer, whether I am performing in a show like Dream Girls or in a small intimate jazz club. Read More
