Elma Houghton is an international musician based in Bristol. Playing all styles of music on her 1980s Yanagisawa Alto Sax. Elma works mainly in the southwest and around Bristol, Devon and London. She can play independently or with a DJ.

Description

Elma is a international Solo saxophonist who can play Ibiza style, House, Disco, Funk, 90’s, Classics, Jazz, Blues and and music from around the world.
Elma is fun and friendly and has her own small PA speaker. Based In Bristol she is willing to travel around the UK for gigs but travel fees will apply. Elma has been playing music for over 20 years and has a natural affinity with the saxophone.

Elma sax played at our wedding on Saturday 29th September. She was very organised in the run up to the wedding and was quick to communicate with us about song requests, speakers, and anything else we discussed. On the day Elma was professional and friendly to the guests. She played an amazing set of jazz and pop covers with her own backing music. It was an excellent feature to our wedding and we had compliments from many guests! Thank you Elma- we would highly recommend Elma Sax for weddings, parties or any other events !

Elma has been a fantastic professional to work with. She has been all over the UK with us, playing with us when we went on tour supporting the Wailers and in massive venues including O2 Academy Birmingham. She showed commitment and flexibility coming to all the rehearsals at short notice and became fluent with her parts very quickly. Elma is a very positive and optimistic individual who is adaptable and a joy to work with.

Experience

I have performed weekly/twice a week for 2 years in cocktail bars playing over house, Ibiza house classics and disco.
I have played at a funeral. I performed ‘Strangers on the shore’ by Acker Bilk.
I have performed at a care home out in the lawn with a speaker. I played a mix of jazz classics and some well known numbers. It was a success!
I have performed in theatres and stage shows.
I have performed for corporate christmas parties.
I have performed at weddings, Indian weddings and high end private functions. I was on a contract in India for 5 months as a musician.
I have performe ... d solo/and in a duo at receptions, hotel lobbies and outdoors for garden parties.
I am a self sufficient musician.

Artist Buzz Entertainment- India contract of 5 months including various clients.
I am hired through various agencies and managers for events so do not know my exact clients.
I performed solo with djs at The florist cocktail bar, the botanist cocktail bar and Dirty Martini Cardiff. Weekly for a duration of two years.
I performed with Pussycat club solo and with djs in Brighton back in 2011-2013.
