Biography

Edi Rudo is a French-American magician, mime, shadowgrapher and puppeteer based in Paris, France.
He began performing magic at the age of five and joined three Parisian magic clubs (Cercle Français de l'Illusion, FFAP, Amis de la Magie) at a very young age, where he stood out for his poetic style and creativity.

Edi likes to fool spectators with his tricks, but above all he loves to use magic as a tool to tell stories and express emotions.

In 2014, at 15, he became the youngest magician to win the French Close-Up Cup (CFI). The same year, he won the under-18 competition of th ... e Edinburgh International Magic Festival.
While juggling between high school and private performances, he trained in the art of puppetry in the Czech Republic and with the Philippe Genty company. He taught himself shadow puppetry, studying old books that he bought from vendors on the banks of the Seine in Paris.
After high school, he studied mime, acrobatics and dance at the École Internationale de Mime Corporel de Paris from which he graduated in 2018.

Upon graduation, he was invited to perform versions of his show, three years in a row, at the Macau International Mime Festival and the Macau Fringe.

At 19, he was hired by the University of Macau to teach a course on non-verbal communication.
​
In 2019, he worked for Cirque Pinder where he presented a shadow puppet act in the show Les nouvelles étoiles du cirque (Rising Circus Stars).

In 2021, Edi was selected by director Edouard Deluc to create all the magic and pyrotechnic effects for the movie Pétaouchnok and coach the actors. The film starred celebrated French actors Pio Marmaï and Philippe Rebbot.
Edi also works as a magic consultant. He designs tricks for operas, plays, films and other magicians (Opéra de Reims, Canu Theater in Macao, D-Rôles Production, Jean-Luc Bertrand, etc.)
He also creates content for social networks. This includes videos for numerous YouTube channels and Facebook pages (Daily Dose of Internet, Creapills, This Just Happened, Jellysmack, Japan Footage Inc., etc.) as well as stop-motion videos for brands (Igloohome, Erik, etc.). His videos have generated tens of millions of views worldwide.

Today, he spends most of his time performing in artistic, corporate and private events.

He is currently leading a groundbreaking performing arts project called The Daydreamer. This ambitious show combines magic, mime, comedy, and puppetry, and uses custom machines that Edi designed with a team of architects and mechanical and electrical engineers.
