Donald Isabirye Baguma is a Ugandan vocalist based in Cape Town South Africa. He is in his final year of study at UCT doing a BMus in jazz studies. His music Journey has not been short of amazement and adventure. His voice is full of soul, big and descriptive, with a rare ability to adapt according to the required emotion or sensitivity. He has sung in choirs since 2005 and has participated in various competitions through the years. Donald attended Namilyango Junior Boys' school for his primary education from 2001 to 2007.
While there, he joined the school's choir and the church c ... hoir. He proceeded to become the church choir's conductor at the age of 11, and one of the main soloists and cultural dancers in the school choir, positions he went on to hold even through his high school life. He went to St. Mary's College Kisubi for his O and A’ level education from 2008 to 2013. While there he joined the Cherubim choir, where he sang soprano for 2 and a half years before his vocal growth, leading him into the tenor. He was the acting vice choirmaster of the choir in 2011 and then the choir's chief conductor in 2012.
He was part of the drama club where he learnt various cultures in Uganda through music, dance and drama and got a profound opportunity to entertain the King of Buganda kingdom in 2012. Donald, for the 6 years in college, participated in music Dance and drama competitions as a dancer, a conductor, a playwright, and a musician, with Enthusiasm and dedication, leading his house to victory through the 6 years.
In 2014, he was Appointed as a youth music director in St. Andrew's church Jinja, a position he held for 4 years, training and improving the church youth choir. After he handed over the position, he came to Cape Town, South Africa to pursue his passion for music and particularly singing and songwriting. Currently, he is also a freelance artist at Stardust theatrical dining, one of the few restaurants in Cape Town that is a home for the performing Waitron.
