Wedding DJ - I will DJ your wedding, usually I can provide a full rig set up, with lighting, speakers, microphones & anything else you may require, these are extra services however and depending on how far the event is from my location, will determine the price of this service
Nightclub DJ - Pretty self explanatory, I have DJ'd on student nights, fancy dress nights, special events. I DO NOT DO KARAOKE SETS. (Lord, save me.)
Private Party DJ - I have done kids birthday parties, baby showers, BBQs, private local events & even radio shows, I like to be diverse in my DJing.
Student Event ... DJ - I've done the end of year Xmas Ball for both University of Nottingham, Trent University & Loughborough University. I also do welcome/closing parties for student accommodations, I've done various in the past 3 years. They usually come about twice a year, at the start of term & the end of the year. These gigs are usually more chilled, it's more background music than anything, usually the student accommodation will have food & drinks stands for the day, so the students can have something to do while they're unpacking/packing their belongings.

I'm like yo, wassup wassup wassup!
My name is Rakim also known as DJ Raxeh (Pronounced Rax-cee), and I've been DJing professionally since 2019.
I originally began DJing in college, back in 2014. I went to Confetti Music College, located behind Pryzm Nightclub Nottingham. During my time there, I learned about how the music industry operates, I taught myself to DJ, with minor assistance from other DJs, I then moved swiftly on to hosting an event, alongside my college group of 5.
Was pretty decent too and technically counted as my first ever gig! (Unpaid of course.)

I had to take a couple years out of DJing due to my lack of funds and not having decks at home. After I left college, I was unable to use the equipment there, so I went into full time work as a cocktail bartender, which was another job I had high interest in at the time, alongside being a DJ.
It didn't take me long to realise the two jobs conflicted heavily, with me unable to DJ on the weekend due to my bar job, so at the beginning of 2019, after working the bar for almost 3 years, I'd saved up enough to quit my job and decided to pursue my DJing dream and started with a Summer season abroad in sunny Ayia Napa!

Fast forward to now I have returned from DJing abroad for the first time in Summer and I had quite an experience!
From DJing on boat parties, to busy bars, to pool parties to packed out nightclubs. I truly have achieved a lot in the year of 2019 and I am now available to offer my DJ services to those who require it! :)

After finishing my 2023 season in Malia, I returned back to the UK.
2024, I took a stab at doing events, the first one I did was actually in Malia in 2023, we attempted to do a repeat...but events are difficult. Regardless, I stayed head strong & went back to gigs at local venues in the Nottingham City Area.
As of January 2025, I am still actively seeking work. So if you require a DJ, get in touch.

It's difficult to re-hash what's already been stated, but to add more context, I begin DJing in 2014, when I was 19.
I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life before then, it was a strange time in my life.
All I knew was that I love Music & DJs are cool.
I also enjoy pushing myself, I often take cold showers, I run miles in the cold weather, I eat relatively clean, however, sometimes it is difficult to wait until I get home, after a gig, to eat one of my batched pre-cooked meals, so if there's a cheeky takeaway in my vicinity, then I might indulge. It may not seem like it, but DJ ... ing takes a lot out of you, I believe the longest gig I did was 12 hours, I was on my feet for maybe 7 - 8 hours, constantly.
Funnily enough, after the 12 hour set, I got asked to cover at a bar in town, so that weekend was a very nice payday. I believe I left home at 10am that morning & returned to my bed the following morning around 3am.
I also like to meditate & practice breathing techniques. There can be a lot of brain fog, when you enter the nightlife, there's the risk of alcohol & drug abuse, as well as suspicious characters all around, it's easy to slip into degeneracy. So the meditation & breathing helps slow things down for me, so I don't indulge & rush into something silly.
I believe in today's TikTok brain society, we often do things without thinking about the long term, I dunno...maybe I feel this way because I turn 30 this year & I feel like an old fart ha!
Hmm an entertaining fact...well, I suppose they're entertained after receiving it.
So I have custom made popsockets, that I take to my gigs, I give these out for free, as it costs me not much to produce them, people honestly love them.
