Description
As a singer, I offer a diverse range of material that can be tailored to suit your event. My repertoire ranges from jazz to country to rock 'n roll and cabaret. I am also a fast learner who is able to learn specific material for your function or event, should you wish. I have had 5-6 years of professional vocal training and am vocally fit to offer performances of up to five hours at a time.
In the acting sphere, I am mainly focused in the musical theatre discipline. I hold an ATCL diploma in Musical Theatre with the Trinity College of London and have been working as a musical theatre actor
... since aged 10. I do not have any formal dance training, but I am a competent dancer who is always willing to take on a challenge and learn choreography.
I also offer services as an MC/compere through which I am able to serve as host for model and talent shows as well as auctions, corporate functions, weddings and parties. I am also trained and skilled as a competition quizmaster.
As a cabaret artist, I have two full-length (1hr length) one-man cabarets that I am able to offer. Both shows have minimal staging and technical requirements and are, therefore, adaptable and easily transportable.
THE WIZARDS OF BROADWAY, the first of these shows, is written and directed by myself. The show tracks the creative men and woman behind the formation of the modern musical (and how it all came to be) through a fast-paced cabaret style performance which includes songs from the major musical composers such as Richard Rodgers, Andrew-Lloyd Webber, Cole Porter, Alan Menken, John Kander and others.
MAD ABOUT THE BOYS, is a cabaret produced by the WelaKapela Production company of East London. It celebrates the lives of Ivor Novello, the matinee idol, Noël Coward, the quintessential English gentleman and the American play boy, Cole Porter.
Think of a certain suave, urban style that reigned in New York, London, Paris, the theatre, and the movies in the '20s and '30s. Think of cigarettes, smoking jackets, cocktails, cynical epigrams, and sexy, witty, world-weary songs. Cole Porter, Noël Coward and Ivor Novello, who were friends moving in the same café-society circles and who virtually invented that style were the celebrities of their time.
This witty little cabaret is written and directed by Amanda Bothma and is a series of little vignettes about each of the boys and of course the songs that made them immortal. Mad About the Boys promises to be sheer entertainment.
