Biography

Christopher William Paul Wojahn is a professional freelance violinist and dedicated music educator based in Central Florida. A 2014 graduate of the University of Central Florida, Mr. Wojahn earned his Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Performance, studying violin under the tutelage of Dr. Ayako Yonetani. He honed his skills through additional private instruction with Dr. Chung Park and has enjoyed extensive performing with the University of Central Florida Symphony and Chamber Orchestras for an 11 year since the start of his undergrad in 2011 to April 2023 as an alumnus.
Chris began his musi ... cal journey in Brevard County, Melbourne, Florida. Coming from a non-musical family he discovered his passion for music at age 11, initially starting on the cello from which he later stitched to the violin because “I rode the bus to school” studying with Linda Miltenbrger Utz. During high school he played with the Brevard Symphony Youth Orchestra under the direction of Joseph Kreines his last two years and began his formal music education at Eastern Florida State College (formerly Brevard Community College). There, he studied violin with Amy Jevitt, served as Concertmaster and Assistant Concertmaster of the college orchestras, and delved into music composition with. Dr. Chan Ji Kim (EFSC) and Dr. Thad Anderson (UCF).
Mr. Wojahn’s musical experiences are diverse and extensive. He has participated and attended masterclasses with world renowned violinists such as Midori, Ronald Lantz, Rebecca Lauter, Jonathan Schwartz, Gil Shaham, Glenn Dicterow, and Luri Lee, Assistant Principal 2nd violinist of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. In February 2023 he studied with Giora Schmidt for the month through tonebaseViolin’s Mentorship Program. Mr. Wojahn also works extensivly with renowned violinist and Primal Alexander Technique teacher Jennifer Roig-Francoli through her online program The Art of Freedom and is currently studying privately with Dr. Lynn Kuo, also online, furthering his commitment to music performance and education.
His vast performance history spanning over a decade includes collaborations with various ensembles, and pit orchestras for musicals at historic playhouses in Cocoa Village and Titusville, church events, wedding gigs (often substituting with the Quartet) performing with the band KANSAS and the UCFSO on their National Collegiate Symphony Tour. His solo debut was with the UCF Chamber Orchestra, performing Bach’s Violin Concerto No. 2 in E Major. In April 2023, Chris performed Respighi’s Pines of Rome with the UCFSO in the “acoustically perfect” Steinmetz Hall under the direction of Eric Jacobsen, conductor of the Orlando Philharmonic and Virgina Symphony Orchestra.
As an educator, “Mr. Chris”, as his students know him, brings seven years of teaching experience to his students, who have succeeded in auditions for prestigious youth orchestras, like the Florida Symphony Youth Orchestras (FSYO), performing arts and magnate high school orchestras as well as Orange County All-County orchestras.
Mr. Chris has been part of the A Gift for Music program, providing violin education to Title 1 elementary schools. His teaching philosophy emphasizes that music is accessible to everyone, regardless of age or background and believes in the transformative power of music, committed to making it accessible to all, regardless of age or background. His musical interests span conducting, composition, and music history, with a focus on Baroque to contemporary music.
His dedication to the arts is evident in his diverse musical pursuits and his eagerness to share his knowledge and passion with students and audiences alike.

I had the pleasure of having Christopher Wojahn as my Violin Teacher. He makes playing the violin fun and easy. He is a very gifted musician his very patient with people. I have had a few teachers before him. He is by far the best teacher I ever had. I give him an A+. He is so very talented and so diverse in many different styles. He is very opened to pretty much any type of music not only classical. He is very good at classical music. I have enjoyed being one of his students. I highly recommend him for any concerts.
