Meet the Act
How did you get into the music you play?
I grew up surrounded by great music thanks to my dad, who would get his old record collection out of the loft. I remember him playing classic British Rock and Two-Tone Ska records, and I was hooked from an early age. Bands like The Kinks, The Jam, and Bad Manners became the soundtrack of my childhood, and that passion has stayed with me ever since.
What inspired you to start playing guitar?
It all started at school when a music teacher came in and did a demonstration on guitar. His energy and talent blew me away, and I knew right then I wanted to p
... lay. He became my teacher, and to this day, we’re still good friends. He really lit the spark for me to pursue music seriously.
How has your family supported your music career?
I’ve been incredibly lucky to have the full support of my family. My parents have always encouraged me, and my wife has been my rock through all the ups and downs of life as a musician. I also have a close-knit group of regular clients and friends who’ve backed me from the start. Knowing I have their support makes all the difference, especially when performing week in and week out.
What can people expect from your performances?
My shows are all about creating the right atmosphere, whether it’s a chilled-out evening or a lively, high-energy set. I love mixing it up with British Rock classics from the 60s to the 00s alongside Two-Tone Ska, and I tailor each set to suit the vibe of the venue. From intimate acoustic sets to full-on party sets, I adapt to make sure the audience always has a great time.
What kinds of venues and events do you typically perform at?
I perform regularly at hotels, holiday bars, cruises, and pubs, but I also love playing private parties, corporate events, and even football matches! One of my highlights is performing for the crowds at Crawley Town FC before kick-off—it’s an amazing feeling to play in front of 6,000 fans.
Do you handle your own sound and lighting setup?
Yes, I take care of all the sound and lighting. I’ve got everything needed to ensure that no matter the size or style of the venue, the performance goes off without a hitch. It’s part of making sure that my clients have a seamless experience from start to finish.
How do you balance performing multiple gigs a week?
It can be intense, averaging four gigs a week, but I love it. Every venue and crowd brings something new, and I thrive on the energy of performing regularly. Plus, it helps that I have such strong support from my family and regular clients who understand and encourage my work.
What’s the most rewarding part of your music career?
The most rewarding part is seeing how music can connect with people. Whether it’s someone singing along to a song they love or watching a room come alive, those moments remind me why I started in the first place. It’s not just about playing songs—it’s about creating memories and experiences.
What keeps you motivated as a musician?
It’s the people—my family, friends, clients, and audiences. Their encouragement keeps me going, and knowing I can make a difference in their day with music is what fuels me to keep playing and growing as a musician.
What makes your performances unique?
My performances are personal. I bring a deep connection to the music I grew up with, and I take pride in creating the right mood for each show. Whether it's a small gathering or a large event, I aim to make sure everyone feels part of something special, and that’s what sets me apart.
