Biography

Hello! My name is Carl and my aim is to set the atmosphere at your wedding or special event, performing on my acoustic violin accompanied by professional backing tracks. I am a classically trained and prize-winning soloist, and can perform covers of your favourite songs from the 50s to the modern day in addition to classical pieces, jazz tunes, and folk. Carl Bradford began his violin studies at the East Sussex Academy of Music and went on to lead their orchestra. He continued his education at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and D ... ance, where he studied with Diana Cummings and graduated in 2014 with a BMus (Hons) degree.
As a soloist, Carl is a previous prize winner in the Vivian Joseph Classical Concerto Competition, and has also been a finalist in the Vera Kantrovich Solo Bach Prize. He enjoys playing in a variety of chamber groups, and has received coaching from esteemed musicians such as the Carducci and Wihan Quartets and Michael Bochmann. Carl’s chamber music and orchestral engagements have led to performances at venues such as The Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, and St John’s Smith Square. He performs frequently with the Hastings Philharmonic Orchestra.
In the summer 2017, Carl spent six months touring with Gifford’s Circus around the Cotswolds in England as a violinist in the band, working with a diverse selection of acts on local village greens.
Most recently, Carl has performed and travelled around the world with Princess Cruises in Classical-Crossover duo ‘Strings Attached’ performing a varied selection of music including pop, jazz and classical, along with a number of themed sets and a theatre show . He has performed on numerous vessels with Princess touring the Caribbean, North America , Japan, China to name a few, with his most recent adventure cruising around Alaska being a personal favourite.
Asides from music, Carl enjoys sport, especially tennis and often competes in local leagues. He enjoys being out in the countryside and appreciates a good pub. His favourite band is Keane. Read More
