Description

In 1976, I was awarded by the Boston Jazz Society and New England Jazz Educators for outstanding performance during high school jazz band competitions held in Boxborough, Massachusetts. I continued to study drumming through several professional Boston area drummers including private lessons in drumming technique and rudiments from the renowned Alan Dawson at his home in Lexington, Massachusetts. I have been recording my drumming to songs at home to use for demos showing my drumming. I am seeking to perform with clean, professional touring groups or other like talented players. I love to drum!

“Brian Donaldson is a real player! I’ve witnessed Brian’s playing since 2012 at a drum festival in Manchester New Hampshire and I knew I was going to see more of him. He is a well-rounded player. He always puts on a smile and shows! At the last drum event, I got to sit in with Brian and 7 other drummers from different styles of playing and Brian adapted to every style. I enjoy most when he plays jazz along with his Sonor kit that has such a rich sound and so full.”

Brian played drums for a Fleetwood Mac Tribute, in Boston. Brian’s drumming far exceeds the expectations of the tribute band we were subbing for. The crowd responded grandly and we had a full seating.

Experience

Drumming includes playing jazz clubs, assisted living homes, restaurants for blues and rock, classic rock bands, church bands, concert bands, and marching bands. I've played several seasons with a rock band in Cape Cod restaurants, formed a jazz trio playing real book tunes for wedding and assisted living gigs.
