BRETT ORR is a vocalist, keys player and drummer from Queensland, Australia.
He spent his formative years as a keys player in country Victoria, before taking up the drums at age 18 and moving to Melbourne. Seeing the high standards on display in the city, he worked hard to get to a professional standard quickly. Within a year he was touring with his original band and making waves as a drummer in the competitive Melbourne music scene.
He would spend the next 10 years building his career as a professional drummer in a variety of bands and venues - from pubs and clubs, to weddings and corp ... orate, and some major festivals supporting Australia’s biggest acts.
At age 28, Brett decided to return to centre stage as a vocalist/keys player.
In order to start fresh, he bought a piano and moved from Melbourne to the tropical Sunshine Coast, quickly gaining a reputation as a soul singer with a powerful and distinct voice. Within a year, he was performing full-time as a frontman in some of Brisbane’s leading corporate/wedding bands.
Brett has spent the last 15+ years performing as a full time professional musician in the Australia and Pacific region.
He is comfortable in venues of any size, from serenading audiences at intimate solo piano shows, to a 14-piece party band at major music festivals.
He has also developed a unique “one-man-band” solo show, combining vocals-keys-drums using a looper. This has made him versatile enough to play everything from romantic piano ballads to dancefloor-filling party RnB as a solo act.
Lately he has been seen aboard cruise ships throughout the South Pacific, performing with some of Australia’s finest musicians with funk/soul quartet “Tension & Release”.
Whether it is sitting in the back row and laying down funk beats, or taking centre-stage as a soul singer, Brett is excited to take his signature sound to as many corners of the globe as possible.
