I am daily adding a new name of an Orlando person, in no particular order to a large list of folks I am calling "Firestarters!". Today's add. Ron Betts, for well he is BIG RON BETTs.. and if you know the Orlando music scene, you know him, you know the impact he has made, how hard he has worked, how amazing he really is. If you do not know Ron, please meet him, and say thanks, for OUR music scene.. Never a bad word about anyone, never nothing but pure passionate music, for the MUSIC, and all those around him, Making everyone better... One of the first musicians I saw in town, along with many others.. in well Pitch blue Jam, and all the times they slayed, any room they were in. Let's just call him a father to our music scene. hope to catch you soon, man.. wait.. see you tomorrow.. . I want everyone to know about these folks . We are who we are, because they invested their time, talents, and creativity. they take risks to expand spaces,and minds,still.

Meet the Act

"Big"Ron Betts has been performing in and around the Central Florida region for over 30 years including fronting ‘Pitch Blue Jam’, ‘Ron and Dave Experience’ and ‘funkUs’. An award winning musician, Big Ron was the winner of the 2022 Central Florida Blues Challenge and represented Central Florida at The International Blues Challenge in Memphis. His influences include B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix
Pat Coombs has been playing bass in Central Florida since the mid-90's. He has previously played with Sol Season, Running Blind, funkUs, and The Ron and Dave ... Experience. Pat has collaborated with Big Ron at various venues around town for more than 20 years . Rock, blues and funk are Pat’s happy places, influenced by artists such as Geddy Lee, Pino Paladino, Flea and James Jameson.
Ken Dillard Sr. was born into a musical family and played for the band at his father’s church at a young age. While he plays multiple instruments, drums are his passion. Known as a crisp, clean, pocket drummer who can switch genres without missing a beat, Ken’s influences include Dave Weckl, Chris Coleman, Jeremy Haynes and Teddy Campbell.
