BACH TO BEATLES – Duo with Vocal, Guitar and Cello,
Henning Olsen (DK) who started the leading Danish Beatles cover band, Rubber Band and John Ehde (SE), who has played with the Vienna Philharmonic and LINensemble, among others, have finally met and serve up treats from two cultures in beautiful union.
The Beatles have used string quartet/cello on some of their songs with great success.The most obvious are Yesterday and Eleanor Rigby, but the range of the cello makes it possible to play the most important instrumental roles of the arrangements.
Bach to Beatles presents the main Beatles- ... hits with cello, mixed with movements from the masterful cello suites by Johann Sebastian Bach.

Biography

Henning formed the number one Beatles Tribute Band and made some big hits in Denmark. Now he also performs as a solist.
John Ehde, born in 1962, is one of Scandinavia´s most versatile cellists with a broad range of activities on his schedule. In the contemporary field he has premiered more than 50 solo and chamber works and he enjoys a close collaboration with the danish jazz elite.
The solo CD “Sonatas & Scenes” (2010) was labeled »Recording of the Year« in its category by Music Web International.
He has worked as principal cellist in the Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra, Sweden ( ... 1989-99), Trondheim SO, Norway and Zealand SO, Denmark.
During his years in Vienna he was a regular assistant with the Vienna Philharmonic.
Between 2006 and 2017 he was cello teacher at Malmö Academy of Music and has given masterclasses in numerous countries around the world.
Since 2019 member of Rudersdal Chamber Players who is, among other things, the founder of Rudersdal Summer Concerts. The chamber soloists had a successful tour to Russia in 2019. They like to perform theme concerts, with a mix of new and old music, lectures and poetry. John Ehde has toured as a soloist and chamber musician in large parts of Europe as well as in Canada, Vietnam, China, Hong Kong and has many recordings behind him on labels such as Dacapo Records, Caprice, Kontrapunkt, CDKlassisk. Henning started with the acoustic guitar and an older friend adviced him to play the chords of Beatles to learn the quick change. He began to sing along and saw himself as rather good. Then he met a Beatles nerd who could all the voices, guitars, bass and piano and they spend lots of time playing together, Later Henning suggested that they made an electric Band to an exibition about the 60's. and that was the start of a long carrier with 3 movies (2 of Oscar winner Bille August) and lots of jobs in more countrys,
