Hello, we are Arjana Vizulis and Ivan Danylets, an experienced musical couple comfortable working in a variety of environments. We met in 2014 working together as musicians on Carnival cruise ships. At that time we were both members of 6 piece bands, performing a wide variety of pop and rock music. Arjana is a singer from New York City, and Ivan is the pianist/keyboardist originally from Ukraine, now also a resident of NYC.
While working together on these ships, we found our own sound with our own duo which we started performing onboard 5 years ago. On our own time we decided to play the ... music that inspired us. Ivan’s background is in Jazz and Arjana’s is in musical theater and together we bring our own influences to our work as a Jazz fusion duet. We don’t play strictly jazz standards; we play a variety of contemporary tunes drawing from our extensive and varied repertoire from our previous band experience, with the common denominator of authentic musicality and sincerity in what we do. We are an acoustic duet; the simplicity and authenticity of a real piano and voice without extra bells and whistles is our ideal sound. We run a larger jazz band called Gingersnap in NYC where we can be found playing private events and clubs in and around the city.
We welcome variety of performance opportunities to our lives, and thrive on challenging, new environments. Music is our passion, and sharing that with others while traveling to new places is what gives us energy and inspiration.

Biography

Arjana Vizulis Bio:
Arjana Vizulis, a native of Boston, USA and currently based in New York City, is an accomplished Singer, Musician and actor whose career has taken her worldwide. A graduate of New York University's prestigious Steinhardt School of Music in Vocal Performance, she has played various roles in musicals as an actor and singer in Boston and New York, and toured for two years in the North American and Asia National tours of the Broadway Musical "Hairspray" taking her all over the US and Canada, China and Japan. Also a violinist (electric and acoustic), Arjana has performed regula ... rly in the Northeast USA, most notably with the acclaimed Boston based Peruvian folk band "Inca Son", including a Peruvian tour and concert for the former President in the Presidential Palace.
For several years Arjana was the lead female singer for Carnival Cruise Lines in 6 piece bands playing music spanning from jazz to motown to disco, country, 80's rock and contemporary pop. Currently she is featured in a jazz duo with Pianist Ivan Danylets where they also run a larger band, Gingersnap Jazz, playing clubs and events in and around NYC. They completed a Ritz Carlton residency in Osaka Japan in 2020. Fluent in Spanish after residencies in Barcelona and Venezuela, Arjana continues to blend her passions for music and travel. Recognized for her sincere performance style, keen musical ear, sense of humor and ease with audiences large and small, she is a performer with a great deal of heart and passion for what she does.
Ivan Danylets Bio:
Ivan Danylets, originally from Krivoy Rog, Ukraine, is a multi-faceted trained pianist and keyboardist with a background in Jazz and a broad range of musical experience. He received his Master's of music in Jazz at William Paterson University in New Jersey, and his Bachelor's at The Kiev Institute of Music in Ukraine for Jazz Piano Performance. He has extensive experience in cover bands, mastering the keyboards in rock and pop. In the last several years, Ivan's career has taken him abroad, notably a year in Strasburg, France in the Orchestra of the Royal Palace International Music Hall, and to Canada and Europe with Passat Kreuzfahrten Cruise lines. For several years he has worked for Carnival Cruise Lines where he met his wife and duo partner Arjana.
