Description

I play a variety of genres most of which fall under the chilled music types such as Bossa Nova, Reggae, and 50s-80s classics and some more recent songs. I do also have some upbeat music that will cater for more lively events. I also play original music which would then suit Festivals and music venues that support original artists. I have officiated and played at at least one wedding so I am happy to provide that service also ontop of playing music at it. I've provided the music for canapas and wedding ceremonies. I've played at a private functions such as birthdays and some corporate funct ... ions too. I am more recently playing for ticketed events.
I think I have a very good work ethic as shown in my testimonials. I arrive on time and I am set up and ready to play when expected too. I dont drink alchohol at all, unusual for a musician, but thats me.

Ant gave us a great set at our wedding reception; so many of our guests commented on how good the music was. Not even a rain shower dampened his spirits! He struck exactly the right mood to set the scene for the reception whilst canapés were served and was such a gentleman to deal with, nothing was too much trouble. Love your work!

We had Ant over for our Easter party and he helped us make it a great success! Ant is funny, humble, easy going and a great musician. He put our party in the right mood with his first gig and then he just built on that for the rest of the evening, leaving us ready to party for the whole night:-) He can read a crowd and made the evening so fun and warm for us - We have in fact already talked about old year/new year dates 🥳thank you Ant! Experience

I have played professionally for over 20 years as a front man and as part of the rhythm section of a number of outfits. My work has included composing music for musicals and doing professional performing locally and abroad. I am proficient with guitar and singing and can play a number of traditional African musical instruments as well up to a very high standard. My preference is as band leader but am happy to play second fiddle as it were to another competent musician. My experience includes the playing, arranging and composing of a lot of traditional-like and crossover African-classical mu ... sic for both large and small ensembles.

Previous Clients

My clients include a number of private weddings and events over the years with some details on Facebook. More recently they include Spar for corporate Christmas events over the last three years, the historic Pig and Whistle Hotel as resident musician (two gigs a week). Many years ago I performed at a number of corporate events and held the position of performer and music director at The Drum Cafe in Johannesburg. The events were for banks, businesses and other corporate groups.
