Physical Characteristics
Meet the Act
Anna started performing at age 5 when she began writing her own plays and choreographing dance routines to perform for her family and the nearby community. She started clogging at age 10, and competed around the country through age 18. In middle school and high school she participated in Musical Theatre both inside and outside school, securing several lead roles. She was a director of choreography at both schools, while performing in all the shows that she choreographed, alongside a team of directors who were all teachers. In high school, she picked up various talent show gigs, and worked with ... a dance partner, training with dance lifts, which she used in her musical theatre choreography. While performing and competing in high school, she also worked as a clogging instructor at a dance academy. Upon graduating, she taught theatre and dance in Yangon, Myanmar for a year, producing various performing arts events for the community. In college she produced and directed various shows, received vocal and acting training through her college performing arts professors, and self-trained in jazz and ballet techniques using the resources and dance spaces provided by the university. For most of her life she has grown up with latin music, and she started dancing latin styles at age 11 which she picked up at many parties and Quinceañeras. For the past 11 years, she has been dancing latin styles at events and conferences around the country and around the world (for fun) alongside many latin dance professionals. She also was a percussionist in a Rumba band in Austin, Texas for a year. Please see Biography for more details on Anna's specific skills, experience, and training.
