Biography
ALFIO CONSOLI, Professional Singer/Guitar Vocalist/Front-man, was born in Catania on 23 December.
Dedicated and inventive singer with 20+ years of experience in the music industry and entertainment. Band leader and founder with numerous achievements and live tours. A positive person by nature, very friendly and entertaining and at the same time reliable, responsible and committed to work with excellent communication and interpersonal skills both in person and on stage during his performances.
Height: 1.74cm Weight: 75kg
The youngest in the family, begins at an early age to breathe air
... of music close to his older musician brother, demonstrating a strong attitude on singing and on the stage, and dedicating most of his time listening to Italian and foreign songwriters.
After graduation, he enters the world of work forming several job experiences, which however do not weaken his desire to sing and to perform on stage. On December ‘98, after three intense years in Milano in close contact with important authors and musicians, he returned in Catania determined to start performing live and to engage in the kind of music he has always been attracted to: Rock'n'Roll. He begins to tread the stage with his first band, The Hound Dogs, and in 2000 he forms a second band that baptizes with the name ΄΄Sugarfree΄΄, quickly gaining a significant number of followers throughout the island of Sicily.
As lover of «those fabulous 60’s», Alfio takes Sugarfree onto the stages of pubs, night clubs, public events and local radio stations and tv channels, getting a growing support from the public and collecting more than three hundred lives in almost four years. However, this is not enough to satisfy his ambition for professional growth and, struggling between full time jobs on the day and live performances in the evening, he decides to take the band into a recording studio to record their first demos.
After 2 years of efforts, Warner Music Italy shows some strong interest in Sugarfree and very soon offers a recording contract in 2004. A few weeks before the video shooting of their first single "Cleptomania" Alfio leaves the band due to serious personal reasons.
In the same year the popular Italian band Camaleonti interprets the song "Mio grande amore" (wrtitten by Alfio and his brother a few years before) and releases it on their “The Best Of” Album. After a period of time, Alfio begins to give shape to new musical ideas and founded a new band called Radiovintage, finalist at both “Festival of San Marino” and the “Tim Tour” on 2005 with the song "Come Prima". Finalist also at “Sanremo Rock 2007”, the band started to be frequently heard on the radio with its first and only web-single titled "L’Aquario", stable for several weeks on the top ten of iTunes Music Italy and having reached the 3rd place in the official Italian MP3 Fimi-Nielsen ranking.
The year 2009 marks the return of Alfio in the band of Sugarfree and the new debut with the single "Regalami un’estate", which anticipates the new EP "In Simbiosi”. In the same year the band is awarded with the “Italian Fan Club Music Awards” transmitted by the Italian national TV channel “Rai Due”. The second single "Amore Nero", from the EP "In Simbiosi" is soon released, accompanied by an impressive video clip shot in Rotterdam and Verona.
“L’Origine” Tour 2009 and “In Simbiosi” Tour 2010 see Alfio and the Sugarfree around Italy to promote the renewed band. In 2011, they record the album "Famelico" played on radios with the singles "Lei mi amò" and "Famelico". In October of the same year Alfio and the other members of the band receive the "Mia Martini Special" award and close the Live Tour 2011 with an acoustic concert being held at the RAI Radio UNO studios.
In 2012, the band debuted on the TV as special guests in the sitcom "E-band", the new Disney Channel series produced for the adolescents. "Ti troverò" and "Pura e Semplice" are the summer singles of 2012 and 2013. The live activity of the band proceeds at high pace until September 2014.
In November 2014, Alfio closes the Sugarfree band chapter of his musical career in order to write a new one, according to his personal artistic evolution, towards new creations. On 9 October 2015, the new single "Fino all'ultimo battito" will be followed in 2016 by the release of his first solo album “Battiti” recorded between Italy and Brazil released for the brazilian music market.
In 2017, he started working in the Tourism Entertainment industry.
