Biography

Aileen Kelly is a singer-songwriter, composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist hailing from the West-Country and currently residing in Bristol. Her lyrics are interwoven with romantic glimpses into her transitory life. Her music is deeply personal and reflective, transporting you from the smoky dimness of a candlelit jazz bar to a rock 'n' roll jive-up with a rare and timeless ease.
Growing up, she started singing in church and taught herself to play music on a church piano. Her teenage years were spent gigging in indie rock bands before breaking free to take her independent act in a more ... soulful direction. Her sound is still evolving and diversifying with influences from jazz, R&B, neo-soul, blues, gospel and bossa nova.
With an uncompromising approach to the authenticity of her music, Aileen Kelly possesses a style and attitude that is not to be underestimated. She has had recent radio play on BBC Introducing as well as upcoming features on dance collaborations. She is also a member of the Ivors Academy 'In the making artist development programme'. She has worked and written with the like of Cassel the Beat Maker, Liam Bailey, Joy Faruk, D.O.D, Dimensions.
