Biography

Leandri Martin's lifelong love affair with music began at a young age, but it was her indomitable spirit that truly set her on the path to becoming a vocal sensation. Diagnosed with a mixed connective tissue disease at the age of 10, she turned to singing as her outlet, taking lessons at the Riana van Wyk Music School.
Her talent blossomed, and in 2016, while performing at Talent America, she caught the eye of a talent scout. This chance encounter led her to John de Grazio, Director/Producer of Watersound Entertainment, who became her mentor for two transformative years. The result was the ... recording of "What I Like," a catchy pop song, at just 16 years old.
In 2019, Leandri graduated from Bellville High School and signed with SMP (Snyman Music Productions). Despite the challenges of the pandemic, they crafted 12 songs, of which a few are already released.
On May 7, 2022, her debut Afrikaans single, "Droom Groot," hit digital platforms, marking a significant milestone.
Leandri's talent graced the stages of the Oppiwater Kunstefees cruise, where she starred in "Voete van die Gemsbok," and numerous festivals and events, including the "Calvinia Hantam Vleisfees" and the "Kuierfees".
While currently completing an honours degree in Industrial Psychology at the University of Stellenbosch, Leandri plans to fully embrace her music career.

Meet the Act

Music is the light in my life and helped me through a difficult time with an autoimmune disease, as discussed in my biography. This is also the reason I started with vocal lessons as a child and my love for performing arts only grew!
Some random facts about myself:
- I am very close with my family.
- I serve in our church band as a vocalist/worship leader as well.
- I have my own vegetable and herb garden.
- I studied BCom Industrial Psychology at Stellenbosch University (up to honours level).
- Not so random, but people, singing and music are what I love!
