JAM Duo comprises Jules on Piano and Anne-Marie playing the Cello. The sound of piano and cello is one of the most sublime combinations in music. We perform for weddings and events all over the UK. Our repertoire is an eclectic mix of classical and contemporary music to suit all tastes and audiences.
Based in the Cotswolds on the Gloucestershire / Wiltshire border, JAM Duo have an ever expanding repertoire with a collection of music ranging from 16th classical through to modern day pop and rock. Regardless of whether you’re looking for some classical music, contemporary, or the most popul ... ar combination, a bit of both, JAM Duo have some stunning arrangements which will sound perfect at your wedding or event.
Music for Weddings:
JAM Duo can provide music for part of or your entire wedding day. Most commonly we provide music at the following points during your wedding day:
Wedding Ceremony
JAM Duo will play music whilst your guests arrive (usually from around 15-20 minutes before). There is then 1 song for the entrance of the bridal party (we can also merge two songs together if you would like a different song for the bridesmaids for example). During the signing of the register we will play one or two songs and then a final song for the exit of the newly married couple.
Wedding Drinks Reception:
JAM Duo can play indoors or outside - we do not need electricity even when using our digital piano and fabulous Yamaha Electric Cello coupled with a Professional Bose Speaker System.
Wedding Breakfast
Piano and Cello is ideal for your wedding breakfast. Discreet background music while you dine can really add a lovely atmosphere to the occasion. As well as our duo Jules is also a great Jazz Pianist and can provide some great cocktail style background music for your wedding meal to add a touch of class.
First Dance / Cocktail Hour
Using our electric cello we can offer a more upbeat evening set and our duo is particularly popular for a very romantic and special first dance.

Biography

Jules Addison - Pianist
Jules Addison first started taking piano lessons from the age of 6 and was soon working his way through the ABRSM syllabus. Studying with David Rees Williams at Cranleigh School, he achieved Grade 8 on the organ and piano by the time he was 15. He then furthered his organ studies at Royal Holloway, University of London with Jeremy Filsell whilst studying for a Music Degree.
After graduating in 1996, Jules embarked on a career in the music industry. In 2004, Jules set up 4 Part Music to offer professional mobile recording services to Choirs and schools across the ... UK. In addition to JAM Duo, Jules is Musical Director for Cirencester Male Voice Choir & Blue Notes Jazz Group in South Cerney.
Jules also runs Choir Workshops throughout the UK and Europe. Outside of his work with choirs, Jules is Organist in Residence at St Thomas a Becket Church in Bath & Organist for Quorum Chamber Choir for their bi-annual Cathedral Visits.
On the one day a year when Jules is not working or involved with some musical activity, he will either be asleep or drinking gin!

Anne-Marie - Cellist
Anne-Marie Humphries is an accomplished and passionate musician. From an early age she developed a keen ear for music, learning the piano from the age of six. Soon after this she began learning the cello and clarinet, performing within a variety of ensembles. She was also an enthusiastic member of a chamber choir, performing at St. Paul’s cathedral and Notre-Dame, Paris (before the damage!).
Anne-Marie studied both cello and piano at the University of Sheffield under the direction of Yolanda Wrigley and Kathryn Harris. After graduating she moved to the south-west of England, to complete a PGCE at the University of Bristol graduate school. From here, she began a highly successful career in teaching music across secondary schools in Bristol and Gloucestershire.
Anne-Marie regularly leads, sings in and accompanies choirs in Gloucestershire. Before pursuing her career as a professional musician, Anne-Marie was Head of Music at Churchdown School Academy. She enjoys sharing her passion for music with students and has directed many successful concerts and school productions, including hugely popular Christmas Carol concerts at Gloucester Cathedral
JAM Duo
The name JAM Duo is quite simply based on our names. Jules & Anne-Marie – JAM. Of course there is also the tentative link to ‘Jamming’ in music, although that’s not really how we tend to perform!
We formed our Duo at the beginning of 2020 with a desire to promote live music for weddings and events. We are both classically trained musicians and love to perform together. From time to time we also perform solo gigs, Jules as pianist and Anne-Marie Humphries as Cellist.
Jules & Anne-Marie live in a sixteenth century barn nestled in the Cotswolds near the border between Wilts and Glos. On the rare moments they are not performing or recording as JAM Duo, they can usually be found out walking or enjoying a glass (or two!) of wine.

Experience

JAM Duo have been performing together since 2020. Both Jules and Anne-Marie are professionally trained musicians who have music degrees from red brick universities. Additionally we both hold Diplomas beyond grade 8 on our instruments.
Together and separately we have been performing as musicians for around 25 years. JAM Duo currently provide music for around 150 weddings and corporate events every year and we are already taking bookings 2 or more years in advance.
